The king of Black Hat SEO, Matt Marlon has been arrested, but not on scamming SERP’s from clients. He’s moved on from his shady SEO business to scamming people out of their mortgages and ruining their credit. Matt Marlon arrested!!!!!!!
He’s been charged with 32 felony counts, and investigators are looking for more victims. You may have been a victim of his mortgage scam, or you may be a victim of his SEO scam. If so, please call the Secretary of State’s Securities Division at 486-2440.
I’ve contacted Danny Sullivan, who’s editor Kevin Heisler posted about Matt Marlon the CEO of Traffic Power, (see comments - Danny isn’t with SEW anymore like I thought he was - his post is here) and also Aaron Wall posted about the Traffic Power CEO. I can only hope they dig up this story from their archives and call this thieving bastard out for what he is.
So how is your day going so far? Many of us realized last night that our Google Page Rank was smacked down to a big fat ZERO, including JuliesJournal.com. We’re all scratching our heads wondering what is going on.

I’ve heard theories that it’s Google’s way of penalizing people who monetize their blogs. Or it’s certain companies banners on your sidebar. I really don’t believe this at all. Many blogs are showing PR0 this morning that never do sponsored post, or paid advertising. In fact, my companies website which was a PR4 yesterday, is showing a PR0 today.
I’m just a sitting duck waiting for my boss to come in freaking out and asking what is going on with our Page Rank. I wish I had an answer for him, but I don’t.
How did your blog weather the storm? Did anyone actually keep their Page Rank? Any theories on what is happening?
Digg this.
This guy is GREAT! So tell me, what is a blog???
There are a lot of people in town for Blog World Expo that just kicked off about 40 minutes ago. I’m stuck at work today, but I’m going to try to get out early tomorrow and check it out. There are a lot of people I want to meet still!
We had a little get together last night at In N Out, with some bloggers that I haven’t met before. Colleen, Alli, Jenn, Cass, and Ang, and I all got together for a little fun. We had a great time eating, talking, and especially laughing. It’s fun to finally meet people that you’ve known online. All of them were exactly how I thought they would be.
Here’s one picture, and you can see the rest on my Flickr stream. I finally updated to a Pro account last night. I feel like such a big girl now.
I ate healthy (no fast food) last week, and I walked after dinner at night. I ate good this weekend, and we took a very long hike on Saturday. I get into the office this morning and weighed myself. I gained 2.5 pounds. BOO! I’m not discouraged though, and I’m going to keep plugging along until I drop this weight once and for all.
I sent Courtney from Traveling Thoughts.com a picture that Michael took of me in the mountains a couple weekends ago. It’s not the most glamorous or happy picture, and I only had a little eyeliner on, but I for some reason I liked it a lot, and wanted to replace the flower with a picture. I think she did a great job, and I love how it turned out. I’m looking very thoughtful as I was listening to J.R. on the phone telling me about a job he is going to apply for.
I’m happy
