Viva Elvis Cirque du Soleil Contest

I had the opportunity to go to the World Premier of Viva Elvis Cirque du Soleil and it was just fantastic! The costumes, and the music, was just amazing. The part that stood out to me the most was the wedding scene between Elvis and Priscilla.

The song, Can’t Help Falling in Love, was sung by a beautiful singer sitting on top of a gigantic wedding cake. On the big screen was a slide show of their wedding pictures. Priscilla sat a few rows in front of us, and I kept looking at her to see her reaction, but she was just smiling. Me, on the other hand, couldn’t stop the tears from flowing. It was very moving.

Snuggie Pub Crawl – Las Vegas

Okay before it gets way too hot here in Las Vegas, we need to get this Snuggie Pub Crawl excursion underway sometime in March. I had several suggestions for locations, but it seems like the best place to do this would be on Fremont Street. They tend to not stare at freaks that much down there, plus the drinks are cheaper.

So let this post serve as a gathering point for now, and to see how many people we have interested in doing this. Please leave me a comment below if you are interested in attending the Las Vegas Snuggie Pub Crawl, and what weekend this month would be the best for you.

One of my Twitter buddies @juliafish posted a tweet this morning about the Snuggie Pub Crawls that are happening all around the U.S. Yes, you read that right. People dressing up in their Snuggies and going around to bars and pubs drinking. WOW!

Then Michael can walk around in the house wearing his with me so I won’t feel like such a freaking dork. Well I won’t feel like the only freaking dork anyway

Now I’m imagining a group of us all clubbing it up in Las Vegas wearing our Snuggies. HAHA! What great pictures that would make! Hmmm, I wonder how those would go over with security at the door. I’m fairly certain there isn’t a NO SNUGGIES clause written in the dress code rules.

It’s the end of another year, and man did this one go by fast for me. I really wish there was a way to slow them down. I guess that’s good though. I’m enjoying life so much I don’t want it to pass by quickly, right? Shrugs…I dunno.

So, back to my question. How are you planning on spending New Years Eve? We’ve got big plans of a picnic in bed, champagne toast at midnight, and a marathon game of Little Big Planet.

Another Side of Las Vegas

When people think of Las Vegas they usually think of The Strip, with it’s glamorous casinos and bright lights. All the women are dressed to the nines, taking diet pill for months before coming into town so they look their best.

We the people that live here rarely venture down to The Strip unless we’ve got out of town visitors. There are just too many people, and the traffic is horrible. We tend to stick to our neighborhood bars, and smaller casinos.

Friday night we went down to First Friday and then had some awesome Mexican food at Casa Don Juan. We then met up with some friends for a little pub crawling through some of the smaller bars on the north west side of Las Vegas.

We had a really good time, and I took some pictures of the things I saw around the smaller bars that you certainly wouldn’t see in one of the big casinos.

My First Fire Spinning Video

While we were camping with our group last weekend, I finally got to try fire spinning or dancing as it’s sometimes called.

I’ve watched my friend Ron do it over the last couple years and I finally got the guts up to try it. I used his fire staff, which isn’t much different than the tall flags I use to spin in high school other than the ends are ON FIRE.

It was such a rush, and I can’t wait to practice more and get the dance part incorporated into a routine.

Zappos Vendor Party 2008

The Zappos Vendor Appreciation Party was last Sunday, which also happened to be Michael’s birthday. It was a private party held at Rain, at The Palms. They also had the pool area rented out for us, complete with penguins swimming around in the pool. They were the cutest things, and I wanted to pet them, but their owner warned me that they bite.

We spent most of the night out at the pool in a private cabana, sucking down vodka Sno-Kones. Not only did they taste delicious, but they were nice and COLD.

Some of our friends got a little too happy, and had to be escorted out by security. (Just kidding! I asked the security guy to pose for this picture)

Despite the fact that I should have bought some diet pills and taken them for about 2 months before the party to lose some weight, I had a wonderful time, and a lot of fun. Maybe a little bit too much fun??

Serena Williams went to Zappos.com yesterday where Tony gave her a tour of HQ. He also had the chance to “bunny ear” her in a picture to add to his portfolio.
