Michelle Waitzman from Love In A Tent has written a book called Sex in a Tent: A Wild Couple’s Guide to Getting Naughty in Nature and it’s looking to be a big seller once more people hear about it, so I’m doing my part in helping Michelle get the word out by writing about it here, and on my camping blog.

Our landlord sent out some landscapers this week to cut our eucalyptus tree back and off the neighbors house. It was getting really bushy, and covering almost their entire back roof. It looks much better now, although they left a bunch of the leaves and smaller branches on the ground that I will have to clean up.

While they were here, they also did some weeding of the flower beds around the front and the side of the house. They look so much better, but somehow they busted one of the lawn aerator. When the system turns on, we get a flowing shower of water all over our cars sitting in the driveway. The water is so hard it leaves hard water spots on my paint also, and those will ruin a paint job if left on there for too long. I didn’t have time to look at it this morning, so I plan on taking a peek tomorrow to see if it’s something we can just fix on our own, without calling them back out again.

Our whole yard is desert landscaping, and it is so nice not having to worry too much about yard work, but there is still flower beds and pine needles to pick up about once a month. There are even spots on the side of the house where grass is growing up through the rocks. I think it’s from the neighbors when they planted grass seed over the summer. The wind must have picked some up and blew over.

I love flowers so much, and I miss all my roses I had at my old house. I loved spending time in the yard pruning them, and creating bouquets for the house. Flowers are very symbolic, and they have special flower meaning. Red roses have always symbolized love and affection, as do tulips as well. Lilies mean purity, and innocence. The colors also represent feelings. The light colors, such as white, mean peace and harmony, and the darker colors portray love and passion. Orchids are one of my favorites and they symbolize love, beauty and charm. But my most favorite flower is the Iris, and it symbolizes faith, hope, wisdom, and valor.

I’ve been a total slackass today when it comes to writing about the weekend, and I got called out here. Damn them! I just wanted to catch up on my DVR tonight and “wash the grey right out of my hair.” Can you believe I still have not watched the season premiers of The Office or Desperate Housewives, and I’m sitting here with 1.5 inches of old lady hair showing on my head? It’s brutal and rough, and a good thing I don’t Vlog.
Because Michael and I are both slackers and didn’t pack until Friday night, we didn’t hit the freeway until 8PM, which means we rolled onto the dry lake bed right about 10PM. I quickly jumped out of the car to say hi to everyone I hadn’t seen since SoupStock, while Michael set up our spot on the playa. He found me about 30 minutes later (bless his heart) and the party started.

Ernie and Michelle were already there, and the Fancy was wandering around in his chocolate induced haze, with Skrinkle close behind. Man, I love these guys. They are such great friends. I am truly blessed in the friends department. We hung out with everyone, Ron, Violet, Amber, Captain Bill, Nate, Turtle, Indigo, Cameron, and a few others. I don’t remember everyone’s names, but they are all awesome in their own way.

I have to leave you with the watered down version of Part One…my hair is SCREAMING for color. Really.

The plumber has not called, so the boys will be without a kitchen sink for awhile. J.R. assured me that he can take care of letting him in, and writing a check for him when he is done, so that was a nice gesture on his part, and a very mature one at that. Everything is good, and we’re leaving as soon as I get home from work and change out of my work clothes. I’m EXCITED!!!
