Sex and the City 2 is coming to theaters everywhere on Thursday May 27th, and there is so much buzz and excitement in the air. From fashion articles about all the shoes, clothes, and accessories, to hunky pics of Mr. Big walking down the red carpet at premier night. He’s so dreamy….swoon.

I love ALL THINGS Sex and the City related, including the new soundtrack from the movie. With featured artist such as Erykah Badu, Jennifer Hudson, Leona Lewis, Dido, and Cyndi Lauper, what’s NOT to love?

Liza Minnelli covers Beyonce’s chart-topper Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It), and Alicia Keys performs a new version of the Blondie classic Rapture. The soundtrack also features the stars of Sex and the City 2, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, performing the Helen Reddy classic I Am Woman. I’m ALL pumped for the movie now more than ever.

Cirque du Soleil Banana Shpeel Show

Since I live in Las Vegas I know it’s hard to believe that I have never been to a Cirque du Soleil show. It’s not that I don’t want to go, I just haven’t made the time to go, if that makes any sense. I’ve seen tons of their videos and stuff on the television though, and they look absolutely amazing! I really need to make an effort to go one day, and if Banana Shpeel ever comes to Las Vegas, I would definitely make the time to see it!

Banana Shpeel is a roller-coaster mix of styles that blends comedy with tap, hip hop, eccentric dance and slapstick, all linked by a hilarious narrative that ignites a succession of wacky adventures. This is not circus, or a musical or a variety show, or even vaudeville. It is Banana Shpeel! Emmett and the Banana Man seem to be almost like Abbot and Costello, which will make for a hilarious show I’m sure.

Propelled by crazy humor and intense choreography, Banana Shpeel plunges us into the world of Shmelky, a cruel and irritable producer who dangles fame and fortune in front of Emmett, an innocent and romantic actor who has come to audition for him. Emmett soon finds himself trapped in a flamboyant, anarchic world where Shmelky sows terror and reigns supreme. Emmett falls in love with the beautiful Katie and meets a bunch of absurd characters, including the strange Banana Man. But who is this mysterious Banana Man and how can Emmett escape the clutches of Shmelky and his henchmen?

Michael Jackson’s Hospital Thermometer

On January 27, 1984, Michael Jackson was burned while filming a Pepsi commercial at the Los Angeles Shrine Auditorium. He was rushed to Cedars Sinai Medical Center, then transferred to Brotman Medical Center in Culver City, CA with second-degree burns on the back of his head.

My husband’s father was working at Brotman Medical Center as a burn technician at the time, and had Michael Jackson in his care. At the time of his release from the hospital Michael autographed one of his balloons that he had received and gave it to my husband’s father. He also gave him the thermometer that they had used on him in the hospital. My husband still has this thermometer and we thought that it’s time to show the rest of the world what a neat collector item this is for any Michael Jackson fan.

Michael Jackson was always donating to charities, and one of his favorite charities was Brotman Medical Center that took care of him when he was injured. We are seriously thinking of putting Michael Jackson’s hospital thermometer up for auction on eBay and donating some of the proceeds to the Brotman Medical Center.

What do you think? Do you think this might be a hot item on eBay and that we could raise some good money for the burn center? In this day and age of the fancy CSI stuff I’m sure they could lift his DNA off it.

Blondie – Parallel Lines 30th Anniversary Tour

I’ve been to a gazillion concerts in my lifetime but I’ve never made it to a Blondie show. Deborah Harry was all that when I was a freshman in high school, and she still is one of my favorite singers to this day.

And guess what? I finally am going to be able to see Blondie in concert! Michael and I will be going out to the Nevada/California state line to see her at the Star Of The Desert Arena in Primm, Nevada next Tuesday Feb 24 2009!

It’s Blondies Parallel Lines 30th Anniversary Tour and it should be great to hear them do all the old classics that I just love. I think I want to dress up all 70′s punk rock with some crazy hair, just to get into the mood. What do you think? HA!

Coachella Fail – No David Bowie

Well there we have it. David Bowie confirmed it on his site. There will be no Ziggy Stardust resurrection at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival this year.

I’m not blaming Coachella or Bowie, I know it’s not them that starts these types of rumors. It’s my naiveness (is that a word?) that wanted to believe what I was reading online was true.

I know, I know. I’m an idiot who believed a rumor that had absolutely no reason to be true. But it’s been such a life-long dream, that my heart took over my mind and I wanted to believe it as fact.

I mean it’s been what, 36 years since Bowie killed off Ziggy Stardust, and I actually BELIEVED he would bring him back to life for my viewing pleasure? What a fool I am.

Suddenly, renting that RV with friends and going to the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival this year seems so not fun anymore. The lineup better be awesome when they announce it or I’m staying home.

CES09 – You Can Indeed Touch MC Hammer

Last night was the Intel party at The Sportsbook Bar and Grill inside The Palazzo. It’s such a beautiful hotel, and the venue was a great place to throw a party at.

I got to see all my Zappos friends again, and I met some new people along the way. (I think I’ve added all of you to my Twitter account. If not add me, and I will follow you back @JustJulie

Of course I had to tag along to the after party at Lavo and that’s where things got really interesting. I danced my ass off all night, and my feet are killing me today. I should have been gelling. Were you gelling?

Best Christmas Song Ever

And there won’t be snow in “Henderson” (Nevada) this Christmas time…The greatest gift they’ll get this year is life…

Band Aid were a British and Irish charity supergroup, founded in 1984 by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure in order to raise money for famine relief in Ethiopia by releasing the record “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” for the Christmas market.

Every Christmas, the video Do They Know It’s Christmas Time this is the most played holiday song in my house. I just love the song and everything it stands for.

I’ll give you bonus points for naming the 80′s stars in this video in my comments, and super duper bonus points for naming my favorite artist in the line up.

*Hint: he’s Irish and was born with the name of Paul David Hewson on May 10th 1960.*

Do My Blip.fm Twitters Annoy You?

So what’s the greatest invention since the PS3 gaming system you ask? Oh you didn’t ask me? Like that will stop me from telling you! My mom didn’t get my 6th grade report card that said “Julie needs a muzzle” for nothing! I have a reputation to uphold; and I need to scan that for a blog post!

Almost every.single.night when I’m done with the working side of the internet I spend my time on Blip.fm searching for great songs, finding other DJ’s, and propping songs. It’s an addiction and I can’t stop it.

To some people the constant Twitter messages that pop up with every song I play seems to be a big annoyance. Since they don’t stop following me (LOL) I finally figured out how to play a song without it sending it to my Twitter! I can just hear you people cheering all the way over here. You know who you are. Love you girls. *SMOOCH*

Justin the Next Stanley Kubrick

My son Justin might not be into futures trading when he gets older, but he’s one hell of a video editing punk, and that would be a fun and exciting career.

While he was putting the finishing touches on a video I made earlier today I was poking around his YouTube channel looking at his videos. He gathers up raw footage on all the skaters websites, adds music to them, slow motions them, makes the skaters seem like they are skating to the music, and whatever else it is that you do while video editing. He calls this a montage. All this stuff is way over my head, but he really enjoys it, so I must nurture it, right?

I really like the outcome, plus he has GREAT taste in music.
