Wait…What? It’s September?

1. I’m moving to Palo Alto, CA in two weeks! My husband has been working/living there for the past two months and we’ve been hunting and searching for just the right home. That day has come! We found a house, we signed a lease, and we move in two weeks. YIPPEE!
2. In the midst of him leaving, and me packing, I landed my DREAM job working for Suze Orman on her new site Money Minded Moms. I’m the Community Manager over there, so I’d love to invite you all to sign up and become members.

Where Is Julie?

My job title is Social Media Manager and I’ve spent most of my time creating accounts on all the social networking sites, making contacts and well…networking. They also just had to let a programmer go due to poor performance, so today I got to learn some new skills like how to use TightVNC to edit files on the server, and phpMyAdmin to add new products to the database. Tomorrow…Subversion. YIKES! But it’s fun and exciting, and I’m having fun learning new things.

Once I figure out this balancing act of job/family/leisure time again I’ll be updating more often. Until then, have a good one! Miss you all!

The job front…sigh. There is a carrot that’s been dangling in my face for almost a month now, and I’m so damn hungry I just want to gobble it up and swallow it whole. I’m trying to hold my composure together when all I want to do is jump up and down and scream from the rooftops that I landed it, but so far there is no confirmation on that. It looks promising, but a signed contract would be so much better, right!!??

I’m antsy and anxious, and just not comfortable right now. I’m not sleeping well, and when I do sleep, I wake up in a ball of sweat. Michael is shivering under a mound of blankets, and I’m kicking them off like I’m sleeping on the sun.

I’m grumpy and grouchy and snapping at just about everyone, except my kitties, and Devin. I babysat him Monday night and he was just a joy to have. There would be a gazillion babies born each year if they all were like Devin. He loved being swung in the hammock; just look at this smile! He didn’t even seem to mind having the hammock cords embedded into his face either.

I think I just need a pacifier, a blankie, and my mommy. A swing in the hammock would be nice also.

I’m a day late in getting this post up, but yesterday was my 4-year Blogoversary for this domain name, JuliesJournal.com. It’s been a great time, and you can expect to see me around for another 4 years at least. I hope you’ll stick around with me!

Happy 4 Year Blogoversary To Me

It’s kind of weird having a tattoo on my lower back because I rarely ever see it, and half the time I just forget I have it. I’ve been out partying before and my shirt will come up a bit on my back and someone will say, “Hey, let me see your tattoo,” and I have to think for a second what the hell they are talking about.

The other day I had Michael take a picture of it, because it’s so hard for me to really see it up close for obvious reasons. I am far from a Cirque De Soleil performer, so I figured it would be cool to see it in on my wide screen monitor.

I was pretty disappointed. The colors have faded so much in the past nine years and it just doesn’t look as pretty as it use to. Her eye use to be so defined, and her little toe nails and fingernails were painted and so dainty looking.
