It’s hard to believe that my oldest son will be graduating from high school next year. If time flies at the same speed it has in the last 17 years, then graduation day should be here in about 8 months. Really! Where does the time go, and can I get some of it back?
I was thinking the other day about plans for his graduation party. I’m not sure if I want it here at the house, or if we should rent some type of small banquet room out at a local restaurant. I guess it’s up to him if he wants just family there, or if he wants to invite his friends as well. I’m sure he’ll want a mixture of both.
One thing that I am going to make the final decision on is the invitations. I want to use photo greeting cards that have his graduation picture on them, like these:
All I need to do is upload or email a high resolution image to CardsDirect and they will print the cards, and add whatever text I want. They will email me an electronic proof of my card to approve before the final printing is done. This ensures I get exactly what I want!
What I was thinking by using these, is that everyone will get to see his graduation picture without me spending a fortune on a huge photography package. I’m so smart like that. HA!
I got a little side-tracked tonight when my ex assclown boss got arrested and made the news on all the local channels, but I didn’t want to forget to tell all you guys…
Happy New Year everyone! I hope you had a safe and fun celebration, and this year is the best year that you’ve had ever! We went to the Strip with friends, and had a really good time. The fireworks were beautiful, and I tried to get as many good shots as I could. I’m not real familiar with my new camera yet, but here are the shots I got. Enjoy!
And it’s MY BIRTHDAY!! today
I hope everyone is having a terrific holiday season this year! I could go on and on about the joyous family time, and the holiday cheer, but it’s way better talking about the cool presents I got. LOL!
I got a Sony Cybershot DSCW55 which is probably the sexiest camera on the planet.
Also a Bluetooth thingy for my cell phone, in pink of course, with a cell phone case, and a little screen cleaner. I really needed this so I could talk hands free to Courtney during my commute, a nightly ritual. Just ask her how many cars I have almost rear-ended.
And some North Face Tent Boots. They are so comfy, cozy, and warm.
And the greatest XBOX360 game ever, Rock Band. I’ve only been the singer so far, but Michael and I stayed up until 5:00AM in the morning playing. We even outlasted the boys! HA!
Here I am singing, “Say It Ain’t So” by Weezer (camera phone image):
So tell me what you got! And if you blogged about it, add you link so I can see your presents also!
I’m going to do a quick bullet point entry, because I just got a new batch of Netflix movies in, and I want to watch them.
I am all about change when it comes to my boys. I understand how loving and sweet they were as little kids was normal. And I understand how distant and closed off they can be as teenage boys. This is all normal, and I know that. They still love me, and I know that. But there is still that longing in my heart for me to be the center of their world again, like when they were little.
For some reason it really hit me hard this year about how much they have changed, and the effect it has on me. I’m sad. I mean, I am really sad. I accept them growing up, and being more independent, but that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t pull at my heart strings a little bit, or a lot.
How things have changed:
So I’m just not feeling the Christmas thing this year. I’ve only bought a few presents, and I haven’t wrapped anything. I did put up our tree, but I didn’t take a picture of it, because it’s the same damn tree I posted last Christmas. Looks exactly the same, just pretend it’s this year.
I did get really great cards from my mom, Colleen, Lisa, and Mr. Fab. Thanks guys! I didn’t send you a card, as I don’t do cards anymore, but thanks for thinking of me. You guys rock, and it was great meeting you in Vegas last month.
I sure hope this Ba Humbug crap ends soon. I use to LOVE this time of the year.
