Who’s addicted to Pinterest? Do you know what Pinterest is?

Pinterest is a virtual pinboard.

Pinterest allows you to organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web. You can browse pinboards created by other people to discover new things and get inspiration from people who share your interests. People use pinboards to plan their weddings, decorate their homes, and share their favorite recipes. It’s highly addictive, and I could spend hours a day on it if I’m not careful.

Take a look at my Pinboard & make sure to follow me on Pinterest.

If you’d like an invite to Pinterest just leave your email address in the email field below in the comments and I will send you one! (Your email will remain private)

That was fun, but now I have to close comments on this post! I was able to invite over 200 of you to Pinterest. I hope you all are enjoying the site. Happy Holidays & Happy New Year!

After 15 years, GeoCities closed their doors today. There are a lot of mixed feelings about this closure. Some happy, some sad.

  1. I was a Community Leader for the Enchanted Forest, a place for 18 and under to create a web presence
  2. My job was to help the 13-17 yr old kids leave their mark on the web
  3. I kept them safe from creepy internet preditors
  4. I learned HTML from this job
  5. I kept pr0n off the web before it was coined pr0n
  6. No longer is the famed animated mail box .gif used on every website…well except this one. Yeah, I hotlinked it! LMAO!
  7. Whenever I wanted attention I used the BLINK tag
  8. MAD LOVE FOR JUST JULIE
    MAD LOVE FOR JUST JULIE
    MAD LOVE FOR JUST JULIE
    MAD LOVE FOR JUST JULIE
    MAD LOVE FOR JUST JULIE

  9. Or, that super effective MARQUEE tag!
  10. MAD LOVE FOR JUSTJULIE…MAD LOVE FOR JUSTJULIE

  11. Or I changed it up to be magical and colorful – SEXY!

MAD LOVE FOR JUSTJULIE…MAD LOVE FOR JUSTJULIE

Okay despite all the joking, I’m kind of sad. My first website ever was on GeoCitites, and I met a lot of really cool moms on the site. Some embraced the technology and have super cool websites or development jobs now, and some just remained really cool moms with super kick ass sexy websites.

Which ever path your chose for your life, I am so happy and grateful to have you in my online world. GeoCities…you changed lives forever! Thanks for the 15!

This is a sponsored guest post by Zac Johnson on behalf of Sponsored Tweets. For more information about Sponsored Tweets please visit Sponsored Tweets:

A couple weeks ago I signed up with Sponsored Tweets, a new program available through Izea. The concept of Sponsored Tweets is simply… get paid to send out tweets through Twitter. Since joining, I’ve had several opportunities come through, and have already made several hundreds of dollars. Here’s a bit more on the site and how you can make money too. View Sponsored Tweets

How does Sponsored Tweets work?
Everything about Sponsored Tweets is very simple and easy to setup. You create your account, and login with your same Twitter account info (through Twitter). Once your account is created, you just need to set how much you want to be paid per tweet, and then you wait for a new opportunity to come in. When you receive a new opportunity, you just need to approve or deny the tweet. Some advertisers write what they want you to say, but many leave that up to the tweeter. You submit the “tweet” for approved, and once approved, the money is deposit into your account.

Is this allowed by Twitter, and Ethical?
To answer the most important question, YES! This is allowed by Twitter! and Sponsored Tweets mentions this several times on their web site, as they have worked with Twitter through the process of making the site. As for being “ethical”, there is full disclosure. When a tweet is sent through Sponsored Tweets, it is seen on twitter as “sponsored by…“, “Ad“, or “brought to you by..“. It’s this full disclosure that keeps the tweeter, the advertiser and the reader all legit.

What does a “sponsored tweet” look like?
Depending on whether or not your advertisers provides an ad copy, your tweet can look like anything. Whatever you submit will be sent over to Sponsored Tweets for approval. Other than that, it will look like a regular tweet going out through your account. The only difference is that the url is through bit.ly and instead of being posted from “web” or “tweetdeck”, it says “from Sponsored Tweets“… as it should for full disclosure.

Is anyone making Money with Sponsored Tweets?
As mentioned, in just my first couple of weeks, I’ve made an extra few hundred bucks just for a few minutes of my time approving ads, and I have a fairly small twitter following. ShoeMoney also posted about how he has earned thousands from tweeting advertiser links independently and through Sponsored Tweets.

Who else is partnered with Sponsored Tweets?
There are actually a decent amount of big name tweeters already signed on with Sponsored Tweets. I haven’t seen a way to signup online (have to call) as an Advertiser to access a full list of tweeters available, but they do have the following “featured tweeters” listed in the login area. Some of these accounts (like Kim Kardashian) have over 2 million followers.

That’s a quick summary of what Sponsored Tweets is all about, and how it’s making money and driving leads through Twitter. It’s fairly new, and always great to get into a new revenue source on the bottom floor.

I have been on a KILLER winning streak this week! On Tuesday I won a Tempurpedic Celebrity Bed from a Twitter contest, and this morning I won a digital camera from the @TapAndTake Twitter contest! It’s a Samsung ST550/ST500 with Dual LCD displays. The extra LCD display on the front is awesome as it lets you see the picture you are taking of yourself. You know…the “Myspace pose,” but without using the bathroom mirror. I’m going to give it to Justin, he’ll absolutely love it, and I’ll be the best mom in the whole world…for at least a couple days.

notebook Julie hasn’t blogged for awhile it seems, so I thought I (her notebook) would take over for her and write about my life. You see I started off as a very fast little machine. I had the power to run TweetDeck, Photoshop, iTunes, and two multi-tab browsers at lightening speeds. Julie filled my hard drive up with all her photos and music, and I enjoyed viewing her kids pictures, and listening to her mp3s when she wasn’t around. They made me feel closer to her when she was too busy to open me up and opted to use her iPhone instead.

Yesterday she finally booted me up again and I was so excited to finally get some action! All my excitement was quickly diminished when she went to the HP site and started looking at new notebooks. Was I too old for her? Was I not fast enough for her? What did I do to deserve this??? WAAAAAAAHHHH!

Look at this offer she clicked on a few times!

Get $500 off instantly when you purchase an HP HDX 16t with $300 coupon code NBN3248 + $200 Instant Rebate.

She better knock this crap off, or I’m going to just stop booting. We’ll see who’s in charge then…yep we will!
