After we bought our mandolin yesterday we decided to walk around the corner and get an early dinner at the Yard House.
I ordered off the “House Specialty” menu and had a Jerk Chicken and Shrimp Stack Enchilada. The roasted chili rellenos in the sauce made it really really tasty. Michael ordered the 10oz. Fillet with Brandy Cream Sauce. The presentation of this dish was just the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. Really. That’s a lump of mashed potatoes, with asparagus spokes underneath the steak.
And to top it off, it had the little wooden stick in it that said M. Rare. I don’t know about you, but the only other place I have ever, EVER ordered a steak at that used those sticks is the Sizzler. If you’re going to take that much time to build a stupid ($25.00) food mountain, then for God’s sake PLEASE take out the wood stick!
To add to the madness of having a baby around for the weekend, I also had Courtney here. And most of you know what a handful she is! LOL! We had a great time. We went out to eat one night at The Outback Steakhouse, and took turns playing with Devin.
Saturday night we ate at Buffalo Wild Wings, since it was the only place we could find after 8PM that we could take the baby in. Then we came home and played a fun and wild game of Guitar Hero. Michael fell asleep on the couch quickly since he was “low-carbing” it, and Courtney and I stayed up until 3:30AM Sunday morning. Good times!
The bosses came back from the Cayman Islands bearing gifts of rum cake. Rum cake with so much rum in it, that I would not be able to pass a breathalyzer test right now. OMG, they were del.icio.us !!!!!
(I don’t know why these pictures are so blurry. I think I’ve got some settings messed up on my camera.)
Since Outback Steakhouse is our favorite restaurant to eat at, we had to go check out the Limited Time Offer Birthday Specials, and of course get a Bloomin’ Onion. The Outback and the Bloomin’ Onion are celebrating their 20th Birthday.
We had a really great time as always. Our favorite bartender and server (newlyweds) were working, so we got to chat with them awhile before dinner.
Michael had the Fresh Tilapia with Pure Lump Crab Meat and I had the Chargrilled Tuscan Rib Eye. Both meals were fantastic, and our Bloomin’ Onion was delicious. The grilled asparagus is to die for!
Here are a few notes of interest about the Outback Steakhouse.
The Birthday menu specials run through the end of April, so gather up the family and go have a nice dinner out.
You all know how much I love my coffee right? I’m pretty sure I have written about it before. It doesn’t seem to have the same bang in the morning like it use to with a cigarette, but…I will survive.
I recently had the chance to try out the Senseo Gourmet Coffee Pot System. I’ve never used one of these pod system machines, but I know they are becoming quit popular in the office, and in your cubical.
It brews really fast, and it’s really handy for the individual coffee drinker, if you’re not the type that sucks down a whole pot like me. The coffee pods taste really good, but I just didn’t think that the coffee got hot enough. I like my coffee to be tongue burning hot, so that is probably just a mild annoyance that only I would mind.
I know there is a lot going on in that picture (I have the smallest kitchen in the world, with the largest small appliance collection) but try to focus in on the Senseo machine. The machine came with a bag of Senseo Coffee Pods, and a nice canister to store them in. I also got 5 - $20 off coupons to hand out to my friends and coworkers.
Do you like coffee? Do you want to review the Senseo Gourmet Coffee Pot System? All you have to do is sign up here and you may be chosen to receive a free Senseo Gourmet Coffee Pot System. Pretty cool, huh??!!
I’m going to take my Senseo Gourmet Coffee Pot System to work and put it in my office. I’m sure I will have quite a few visitors come to try it out, and if they like it, I can give them a $20 off coupon. So sign up today and share the Senseo Gourmet Coffee Pot System with your friends.
