Michael ordered a book for me from Amazon that just came the other day. It’s called Chick Wit and it is really great! It’s all quotes that famous people have said throughout the years.
I keep pulling quotes from it and reading them out loud. Everyone is getting a good chuckle out of it. Here is a few of my favorite ones, but you have to order it for your own enjoyment!
Happiness is good health and a bad memory.
Ingrid Bergman
Next time I’m not just having an epidural for the birth - I’m having one for the conception as well.

Men are emotional bonsai. You have to whack the fertilizer on to get any feelings out of them.
Irma Kurtz
I’m the intelligent, independent-type woman. In other words, a girl who can’t get a man.
Shelley Winters
I could go on and on. It’s 223 pages filled with these
I’m reading this really great book called Word of Mouth Marketing by Andy Sernovitz, and he’s talking about how popular Target is. How every women loves to shop there, and every women talks about them.
I got to thinking how every time I go to a new town, I usually end up going to the Target. It’s the same damn store as the one I have near my house, but it’s a new Target, in a new town, and I just have to check to see if they have anything different.
Target really has grabbed the word-of-mouth marketing campaign and rolled with it. I bet I could go through all the blogs that I read and find at least two woman that went to Target today and wrote about it on their blog.
Just who doesn’t love Target?
Well my name got drawn, and I am the winner of the book The Book of Fate by Brad Meltzer, at Ms. Kat’s blog contest. I’ve never heard of it, but it has 106 customer reviews, and 3 out of 5 stars on Amazon. A couple of the reviews actually said it was the worst book they ever read. LOL! Someone always says that in those reviews though. I guess it’s a personal preference and something in our DNA that makes us like it or not.
The first thing I noticed was the Masonic symbol on the cover, but no where in the reviews does it mention the Mason’s at all. Michael’s uncle was a Mason, and so was my father, so I am curious to read this book, and see what it is all about.
Thanks again Kat, that was fun!

On one of my daily message board reads, I got into a small discussion about American literature and authors. One of the members Osman lives in Turkey, and he’s preparing for his trip to America soon, so he started a discussion asking us Americans who our favorite authors were. I got in kind of late on this one, but I was blown away when I saw that Skeet listed Christopher Moore as one of her favorites. It’s not often that I run into people who even know who he is, so I thought I would blog a bit about him and his books.

He is brilliant and twisted, intelligent and sick. In his lifetime he has worked as a roofer, a grocery clerk, a hotel night auditor, and insurance broker, a waiter, a photographer, and a rock and roll DJ. With such a diverse background it’s totally understandable how he has the imagination he has. From the pantless whaley boys Poynter and Poe in his novel Fluke, to Steve the Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove, he hooks me in, and I can’t stop reading from start to finish. If you want to leave reality for a few hours without resorting to illegal substances, I suggest you pick up one of his books and read it. You won’t have to resort to that prescription drug addiction anymore. You won’t stop until you’ve read them all. I guarantee it.
Who is your favorite American author?
Christopher Moore, American authors, whaley boys, lust lizards
Today’s search was books.

This comes from lalagirl’s Flickr stream.
“Coloring Clifford. (And, a couple of board books, too. Whoops! Sorry, Barnes & Noble! But you’re the ones providing crayons to little kids!!)”
I always randomly search for these pictures, and I was surprised to see one of my blogging buddies come up in my search! The picture of her children was so cute, I just had to use it!
