I have four cats, so when Dyson asked me to review their Dyson Animal DC-31 Hand held vacuum I was ALL OVER IT!

dyson_animal_review

The stairs in my house are carpeted, and it’s so hard to maneuver my big vacuum up and down the stairs to try to get all the cat hair that balls up in the corners. The Dyson Animal worked perfectly for this! I can’t write enough about how much I love the Dyson Animal, so watch my video!

Whats not to like if you have stairs, a BIG vacuum cleaner and many cats? Would be perfect for someone with back issues like myself!

Extra suction for extra long cat fur — always a great feature in my book! :)

This would really come in hand vacuuming up dog hair on my furniture! :)

Great for all the pet hair in the corners of my house!

Aisling on 17 February, 2010 at 12:12 pm

I really like that it captures debris using Root Cyclone™ technology, not a bag or filter that needs replacing.

Sandra K321 on 17 February, 2010 at 12:14 pm

It only weighs 3.4 lb and the weight is distributed so it’s easy to use.

Margaret Smith on 17 February, 2010 at 12:23 pm

I love that it offers 10 minutes of high constant suction or 6 minutes with 70% higher suction. We could really use this. Thanks so much.

Seems like every vacuum I’ve ever had has never had enough suction. Extra sounds great!

Colleen on 17 February, 2010 at 12:30 pm

What’s not to love about NO BAG? I have stairs, 1 dog, and 3 kids. The only way to vacuum our stairs is to do half from the bottom with the hose from my Dyson upright and the other half from the top. A handheld would be awesome for that, as well as for cleaning up behind furniture, under tables, etc.

The Dyson is so light weight that none of my kids will be able to complain about carrying it around the house to do my bidding!

You mention in the video an attachment in the video that you don’t know the name of that swivels and that is light.
I would die for this Dyson! I am permanently disabled with spinal stenosis. I just had back surgery that failed on top of that. I live alone in a house that has wall to wall carpet with steps included. ( whose idea was that? LOL) I own 1 dog 2 cats. The carpet is old and difficult to clean because the pile is so low. I Currently have 2 broken vacumn. Please pick me;-)
Thank you I do need this so very, very much. Your friend in tweeting. God Bless.

The Root Cyclone™ technology is cool (and even fun to say! and the light weight (3.4 lb is a huge plus for me) – but THE #1 selling point is the extra powerful SUCTION feature:
We have two very furry kitties who shed like crazy!
With our current vacuum I actually have to get down on my knees with a bruch and comb to try to get all the matted in fur the vacuum cleaner misses!

I like that it cleans pet hair and dirt from tight spaces such as upholstery, stairs and the car.

I love that there are no bags or filters to replace.

No bags and extra suction — as the mother of six dogs, I definitely need both!

dawn on 3 March, 2010 at 12:44 am

It only weighs 3.4 lb and the weight is distributed so it’s easy to use.

I love that it has extra suction for stubborn spots–my fur babies get hair in the craziest places-the drapes–the top of the couch, my beds dust ruffle–and believe me it would take 6 men to lift my bed to get the dust ruffle off so I could wash it–it would be so much easier if I had this!

It’s so lightweight. The kids always try to help vacuum but its too heavy. We have two long hair chihuahuas and a big fat cat who is bigger than both dogs put together!

My favorite feature is the NO BAGS to buy (these get soooo expensive) and that it has Awesome suction power.

I have a Husky who sheds everywhere, I feel like I spend more time vaccuming than anything else, this would be a blessing!!!!!

Thank you Dyson and JJ~ a wonderful giveaway!

I love the swivel brush! It would be perfect for vacuuming the front of the stairs. You know, the part that gets all the hair from the dog laying on it :)

Jay F. on 3 March, 2010 at 11:42 am

It weighs 3.4 lb, which I hope is light enough for the kids to use. The weight is distributed to make it easier to use, which will also help.
