I recently started walking to get into better shape (or get a better shape is more like it) and to be more healthy. I have enough bad habits that are not good for my health, so I figured I better start doing something that is good for my health to counter balance the bad things. HA! I’m not sure how logical that is to you, but it works for me.
I’ve also discovered a way to log my miles and help others! I’m using the BeeWell Miles site to log each mile I walk, and in turn they will donate $0.15 cents for each mile I walk to the Breast Cancer Network of Strength who provide emotional support to those who can’t wait for tomorrow’s cure.
This promotion is running from April 1st to October 31st of 2009. Just imagine what kind of money I could raise if I just walked one mile everyday for the full 214 days. That’s $32 bucks, but when I walk the trail it’s generally a 4 mile hike, so that would be $128. Every little bit helps, right?! Now if you join also we could really make a difference for breast cancer and our waistlines.
