Nature's Source Bathroom Cleaner I recently had the chance to try out Nature’s Source Bathroom Cleaner. It’s got the Scrubbing Bubble guys in it, and it works really well on cleaning soap scum and grime on glazed ceramic tile, stainless steel, chrome fixtures, fiberglass and more.

Nature’s Source is packaged in a recyclable bottle, and the cleaners contain more than 99% natural and biodegradable ingredients. In fact the Nature’s Source cleaners were recently recognized for safer chemistry by the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) and the Design for the Environment (DfE) partnership program.

I feel better knowing these cleaning products are better for the environment, and I recently purchased the Nature’s Source Natural Glass and Surface Cleaner also. It works just as should be expected as it cleans glass, mirrors, chrome fixtures, and stainless steel while leaving a bright shine.

I already bring my own cloth bags for groceries, and I can’t use toxic cleansers, but find that vinegar and baking soda have some limitations. I was green before it was cool to be green. If this product is an effective cleanser, I will so be buying it.

Natures Source is SC Johnson (a non-natural company). Although it’s good to see SC Johnson and Clorox (Green Works) coming out with natural type products….I still support the brands that are 100% natural and not just launching a line to cash in on the growing environmental awareness consumers are gaining. SC Johnson still has all of their toxic products on the market- hopefully consumer demand will drive more purchases this way–

Being “green” is lifestyle not a product. Congrats to Johnson for adding this choice to its line up. I tweeted ya!

The grocery store I go to sells cloth bags that you can bring back and use to take your groceries home in. My husband and I use those. I’m amazed at how much they hold, and they’re so much safer for the environment!

I try to remember to take my bags to the store. We recycle nearly everything that comes in our house and we have just begun discovering “greener” cleaners and toiletries.

cheryl kellery on 13 March, 2009 at 8:01 am

We’re trying to use as many all natural products as possible to help the environment and also keep pets away from the bad stuff.

This tip is a new one to me and one I’ll be using this spring: “Reuse packing peanuts in your container gardens. They’re light and airy enough to allow for drainage—and mixing them in with potting soil reduces its weight and makes it much easier to move large potted plants. To find out where you can recycle your peanuts, call the Plastic Loose Fill Council’s Peanut Hotline at 800-828-2214.”

Denise on 14 March, 2009 at 6:17 am

susan varney on 14 March, 2009 at 7:17 am

Whether it’s running to the grocery store or picking up clothes from the dry cleaners, life is filled with errands. But, you can make less of an impact on the environment by consolidating your errands into one trip. You’ll drive less and use less fuel is a great piece of advice

I love the idea and the way these ar enot suppossed to smell..i hate cleaning and one of the reasons is becuase of the harsh chemical smell it puts off

MRS.MOMMYY on 14 March, 2009 at 2:09 pm

reuseable bags and recycling alot..the hardest thing to do though is cut down on trash bags- the messy goes in ag and paper goes into a box to dump for later in a dry garbage- i am trying.

ky2here on 14 March, 2009 at 2:27 pm

I can reuse packing peanuts in my container gardens – saves on topsoil expense and helps prevent root rot.
