The real challenge comes when you have to relearn everything you know about working with a blog theme and start using things called Hooks.

That’s the only thing that has stopped me from using it yet.

Steven – It’s just like anything else. I made the switch from Movable Type to WordPress and I thought I was going to die, but it worked out, and was the BEST thing I ever did with my blog!

I don’t mind doing my own coding.
Got to keep the braincells from running away. But, I have heard some buzz already about Thesis.

Witchypoo – I don’t mind coding that much either, but I’m thinking that anything that can speed up the process is worth it for me, especially in the new line of work I may be doing ;) (more details to come on that soon!)

To your recommendation, I am very tempted. But now, I use blogspot or something more appropriate. But still have to thank you.

Skywind, at some point you are going to want to move off the free hosting services for blogging, and take control over your site.

I’ve had my eye on Thesis for some time now, but with things being the way they are and my blogging being a lot slower lately, I’m reluctant to pay for anything at this point. I’m eager to hear about your experience with it, and about the new line of work you may be doing.

Kirsten – just like me! Pay the cell phone bill or get a new blog theme?

Oh I can’t wait until those days are over! I’m BURSTING at the seams to blog about my possible new venture, but I must wait for the OK from above ;)

Seriously, no more messing with the code???

I don’t know if I’ll ever really understand how to change things on my WP blog – it’s not nearly as user friendly as Blogger.

I can’t imagine having to go through that huge uphill battle of a learning curve again, but Thesis sounds very tempting!

I’m very tempted, but like everyone else it is a decision on where money goes at the moment. Now if it was free… LOL!

Quite amazing what all the new plugins can do. With every new one there has to be some learning done but we are all learning new things all the time anyway… :)

I’ve been researching a lot of different themes and Thesis and Flex Theme keep coming up as the most flexible options. There are pros and cons to each, but what I really love about Thesis is its simplicity and the support forums. My current theme is too busy.. and the support forums will probably seal the deal for me because I’m just not very proficient at coding ! Thanks for the great review.

Source wise, it is OK. But i can’t add videos and ads to monetize my wordpress site.

I have a real hard time bringing myself to pay for themes when so many are available for free. When I look into themes for purchase I tend to get overloaded and have a hard time determining the real value.

I’ve been using Thesis for a while and have to say it’s worth every penny, IMO. The SEO features, flexibility and ease-of-use are a dream combo. Thesis REALLY is the ultimate blog framework!

@Cher You CAN add videos and ads with Thesis – no problem!
