Christmas and Cats My cat is famous, well sort of, in the About.com internet sort of way. While I was setting up my Christmas tree over the weekend I snapped some pictures of Christmas and my cats getting into the tree, the decorations, and all the lights.

Janet Tobiassen Crosby, DVM used a picture of my cat Spider under the Christmas tree in her article titled Are Christmas Trees Poisonous To Cats and Dogs?.

The answer is yes they are! It’s a really informative article and something all pet owners should read this holiday season.

Our two cats and Hugo are not even interested in the tree or decorations – luckily. Hugo does like presents though in crunchy, noisy paper!

That’s pretty awesome that a vet used a picture of your cat in her article. Great shot, by the way.

Heather – that is CRAZY! I can’t keep mine away from it, even after trying the orange peel idea that witchypoo gave me. It’s like a magnet to them.

Whoah,I didn’t know that Christmas trees are poisonous to pets especially to cats and dogs. Good thing you mentioned the link here. I will forward this to my aunt who just received a lovely kitten. She needs to read it because she always build a Christmas tree every year.

Aww! Is Spider excited that he’s famous? I know my kitty would be, even though she already thinks she’s a diva! That’s really interesting that Christmas tree’s are poisonous to cats. I knew poinsettias were, but I didn’t know that Christmas trees were! Luckily we buy the fake kind because I’m really allergic to pine.

Congratulations on having a famous cat! Looks just like my cat “Tessa” with her facial features. Fortunately we only have an artificial tree bot we did know that real trees are poisonous to them.
