Good girls have diaries... Bad girls have blogs!
When people think of Las Vegas they usually think of The Strip, with it’s glamorous casinos and bright lights. All the women are dressed to the nines, taking diet pill for months before coming into town so they look their best.
We the people that live here rarely venture down to The Strip unless we’ve got out of town visitors. There are just too many people, and the traffic is horrible. We tend to stick to our neighborhood bars, and smaller casinos.
Friday night we went down to First Friday and then had some awesome Mexican food at Casa Don Juan. We then met up with some friends for a little pub crawling through some of the smaller bars on the north west side of Las Vegas.
We had a really good time, and I took some pictures of the things I saw around the smaller bars that you certainly wouldn’t see in one of the big casinos.

Sounds like you had a good time in Vegas I lived there when I was in elementary school I bet it has changed alot thanks for sharing with me.

Hey Julie,
Funny that people think if you live in Vegas all you see 24/7 is Glitz.
We do all wear big head pieces & my whole wardrobe is made of feathers & sequins. LOL!
We will make our annual trip to the Strip to see the Christmas decorations in the big casinos so, we can do pics.
I am glad that you found that Santa thing on the NorthWest side – the farther away from me the better!
I hope you had fun on your night out on the ‘Wild Side’.

You are so right! Nobody will go to the el cortez when they come to visit. Nobody came to hang out and see the santa run and nobody visits the griffin. I love downtown. The duece is the only way to visit the strip! Thanx Jules
Sheryl – We live on the South East – the opposite side of “Mummy Santa.” LOL!
Frank – Funny you mention the El Cortez. LOL! We use to stay there when we came here from California. My kids dad’s family owns that place so we always got to stay for free. It’s sooooo old.
Frank on 7 December, 2008 at 12:25 pm yeah the place is old and I was sad when Jackie sold the place. there are sooo many hidden places for visitors to hit, but they keep cracking at the hard rock. The plaza and is old too!
thanks for sharing the pics! i’ve only been to vegas once and, of course, we stayed on the strip. it was *so* crowded though. i want to go back sometime. joe’s never been there!

I think that Santa Mummy hung out at the Old Nevada Palace. When they up graded she had to move.
Speaking of people taking their diet pills before they get here. I can not stop myself from say this. Is there a sign as you board your plane for Vegas that makes you exchange clothes with a person 3 sizes smaller & throw your bra’s in the trash?
Ok, just had to ask. LOL!

I love Vegas, but I would never be able to live there. I’d be so broke! I’d be tempted to go down to the strip every weekend. I just love the lights, traffic, and crowds. Crazy, I know. I’m sure after awhile it would get old though. It sounds like you guys have a great time in the out-skirts too!
