Working From Bed - Day 5 I’m on day 5 of working from bed on my laptop. It all started after Thanksgiving when I had ate too much, and took my laptop into bed with me while I relaxed and watched TV. It’s funny how I don’t miss all the crap I think I need on my desk including the extra monitor I hook up to my laptop.

My bed isn’t a sleep number bed, but it is a nice pillow top. It’s totally comfortable sitting here all day, but for some reason I am feeling guilty for working from my bed. Is that weird?

When I’m at my desk I rarely ever jump up and do housework, but when I’m in my bed it’s giving me some weird motivation to jump up and do chores in between projects.

I think I might be on to something here. My house has never been so organized!

Where do you work from? Your desk, your office, your bed?

I always always work from my bed, ever since I shifted my bed now that it’s right beside my table and serving as a chair. But ughs my back and shoulders ache as a result! My mom absolutely hates the idea, but i suppose it’s really comfortable haha. I think that’s why you keep jumping around and doing chores in between, because it can get quite tiring on your body to tappity tappity type from such a plushy and soft seat the whole day long.

ekniff – I’ve got three pillows propped up at my headboard and I don’t get sore at all.

Heh, sometimes I wish I could work from bed. You shouldn’t feel guilty anyways! More like, lucky!

Mom works from her office chair!! She doesn’t have a laptop (she saw a cute itty bitty one at Office Depot, but wonders if it might be to small) so she try to get up every half-hour or so and does housework, dinner, etc!!

I have tried working from bed before and I must say that it’s very relaxing at first.. But backaches are usually there afterwards..

That’s normal.. At times even I like to work sitting on the bed with the laptop & watching tv.. Though the productivity drops compared to working on a desk.

I started working from bed a few years ago when I herniated one of my cervical discs. I now probably work 2-5 hours a day in bed, 2+ hours in my office, and a couple of hours in Starbuck’s across the street from my house. I find mixing it up is good. When my neck was bad I worked the entire time from my bed and felt guilty. I also felt guilty about working in my pajamas when I first went freelance. Luckily, I’m over the guilt now and embrace the freedom.
