“Who needs a flu shot? I don’t need no stinking flu shot, hell I NEVER get the flu.” Yeah, that was me bragging up the internets about two weeks ago. What’s that saying about karma never…ahh never mind. I feel like flipping shit, and stop laughing and pointing your finger at me.
I spent most of the day in bed yesterday thinking I was just tired and I needed some down time. As the day went on my nose got stuffy, and I got a headache. I tried to sleep but my body was having none of that. I was freezing, then I was on fire, then I was cold again. I got up today thinking today was a new day and I would feel better, especially after some hot coffee, right?
Wrong…my head is going to explode, seriously it feels like pressure is building up and the plane just keeps going higher and higher, even though I am begging the pilot to stop. I really should have had Michael go to the pharmacy for me before he left for work. If you’re in a hotel in Las Vegas reading this right now call a cab, stop and get me some medicine, and tell the taxi driver to head to Henderson. I’m going back to bed. See you in about 5-7 days.

The last time I got a flu shot was seven years ago. After getting it i was sick for three days!

My flu shot was fine. I get them every year. I never have a stuffy nose since I started using a neti pot, or my snot pot as I like to call it.

If there can be a silver lining to being so sick, it’s that at least you will have it all over with and know you’ll probably be fine throughout the holidays.
I’m getting my flu shot on Wednesday! It really does help.

I don’t get flu shots either. I am just getting over a cold I didn’t expect to get last week (boo). There is a good natural remedy sold in health stores that is pretty good– I can never remember the exact spelling….something like Ocillo something.. it’s big this time of year

My house is split when it comes to flu shots. I’ve gotten one every year for the past ten years, and I haven’t gotten the flu. Maybe a few colds, but never the flu.
My husband is a paramedic, and he absolutely refuses to get the flu shot. He’s had the flu every year since I’ve met him. Haha.
i hope you feel better soon! i get the flu shot every year, but i always seem to end up getting the flu anyway. weird.

Here’s to you feeling better. Here’s a toddy recipe for you!
1 oz. Brandy
1 Tablespoon Honey
1/4 Lemon
1 cup Boiling Water
1 Tea Bag
Coat the bottom of a mug with the honey. Add brandy and juice of lemon quarter. On the side, boil water and add tea bag to make hot tea. Pour steaming tea into honey/brandy/lemon combination.

Poor Julie .. Sorry to say this, but you look like crap in that photo. The nice thing is that most flus are over in a few days.

I love the pouty face. I hope you feel better! I’ll give you my secret family recipe: In a cup of hot tea, combine a shot of whiskey (preferably Jack Daniel’s), a spoon of honey, and a squeeze of lemon. You’ll feel MUCH better.

Christina – good remedy, but I don’t have any brandy in the house. I did have some apple/cinnamon Thera Flu earlier, and it seems to be helping. At least I’m up and out of bed.

Flu really puts you to bed for a few days not to mention how crappy it makes you feel (I get one every once in a while) – but at least you know you’ll be fine again in a week – while some other people aren’t quite as fortunate…

Oh gosh I hope you got better fast, my nan always made me drink a pint of guiness to get better quickly – it tasted awful, but always worked. Now I cant have a guiness without thinking of runny noses
