Have any of you been to Branson, Missouri before? I always thought it was kind of an “old persons” (even older than me) type of vacation spot, but after looking around on the Branson web site, there is a lot of stuff to do there no matter how old you are. Am I the only one that had that assumption about the place?
They’ve got the Silver Dollar City theme park with over 30 rides and attractions for the younger crowd. But that WildFire roller coaster looks absolutely terrifying to me. Oh oh, maybe I am one of those “older people” after all. HA, nah, I have never liked roller coasters. The Titanic museum would be interesting to see, along with the Dogwood Canyon Nature Park. That place looks gorgeous!
Regardless, if you want to check it out Branson Getaways has several different travel packages to choose from, some of which even include your dining and shopping certificates to the Tanger Outlet!
I don’t know if the winter is the best time to be going there though. The 40 degree temps seem a little too nippy for my taste, but they do have it all decorated for the holidays this time of year.

I was there a few years ago – and recently posted about the fun time we had in Branson. There’s a ton of interesting things to do. It’s definitely not just for ‘old’ people.
Heh, heh… but then who is old? Even at 95 my dad doesn’t consider himself OLD!!!

Heather – old is very subjective, I know
I have not been to Branson since about 1994. I’ve heard it’s changed quite a bit since then!
I actually do want to go, see Silver Dollar City again during Christmas, do some Outlet shopping and maybe go see Yakov. Or Andy Williams.
Is Andy Williams still alive? You’ve gotta admit he does a great “Moon River.”
Bellesouth, I could never gain a love for Andy Williams, and I tried, I really did!
I wouldn’t call it a “Love.” I’d say it was more like an admiration. Hell, he discovered the Osmonds.
Wait, maybe that’s not a good comparison.
Plus, my mom went to see him 15 years ago so I think that’d be kind of neat.

Heh. I’m old. But not much of a country music fan.

Bellesouth – Branson has definitely changed a LOT since 1994! It is really grown up, and a huge tourist attraction.
I like this review of Branson, it definitely is full of different activities to do like you talked about in your article. The only thing I would suggest is to not go in the winter, I live here in Missouri and it gets wayyy to cold to be going on amusement park rides and such in the winter… but I guess going to see one of the plays would be fine in the winter if that is your kind of thing
