I’ve been really trying to do my part when it comes to saving our planet by buying products for my home that are safe for the environment. So far the things I have bought are working out really well for me except one product; GreenWorks Clorox Natural Dishwashing Liquid.
I had read several reviews about this dishwashing liquid before I bought it, and it seemed like it was going to be really good, just like the Hydroxycut reviews I read before I bought it. (Great stuff by the way!)
I have used Dawn ever since I had my own sink and had to do my own dishes. I bought it because that is what I grew up using at my parents house, and if your mom uses it then it’s got to be great, right?
Well mom knows best once again, and I am switching back because the GreenWorks by Clorox just does NOT cut grease on my pots and pans like Dawn does. Plain and simple. What dishwashing liquid do you use and have you tried GreenWorks by Clorox?

I have a new one which smells like lavender of all things – and it’s a pretty purple color! Sorry, can’t recall the name and I’m too lazy to get up and go look
But, I do like it.
Going green is good and I try hard to use environmentally friendly products – most especially on the boat.

It’s Dawn all the way for me… I’ve tried other brands and I’ve never felt like they got my dishes as clean as dawn.

I’ve been looking at the GreenWorks line of cleaning products, but so far haven’t made any switch. I use Dawn dish soap, and like you I *must* be able to cut and scrub away the grease and gunk that gets on pots and pans, so I think I’ll stick to it.
I am, however, pretty open to trying out the surface and bathroom cleaning products from Clorox GreenWorks. I use regular Clorox cleaning products, so at least I’ll be staying within the brand if I do switch.

Jennifer – exactly
Thanks for sharing.

Jenn – I use Clorox’s wipes for just about EVERYTHING around the house, and I will definitely be trying the GreenWorks line for those.

After an oil spill, Dawn is used to clean the birds and get all the oil out of their feathers. If it’s good enough for them (and the environmentalists don’t have a cow over it being used on animals) then it’s good enough for me.

Kirsten – GREAT point!

Okay! You made me go look
It’s French Lavender by Methodhome.com – a San Fran company. They have a huge assortment of products – the grapefruit dish soap will be my next choice. I don’t have a reason other than the packaging and color which I like so much – and the soap works fine.
They are smart marketers!

Heather – Oh yes, I’ve seen that kind before! Did you notice they were on Twitter? @methodtweet
VERY SMART MARKETERS!

I use Publix brand antibacterial dish soap for $1.29.
It cuts the grease and kills germies.
The only Clorox Green product I’ve liked is the multi-purpose cleaner stuff, but even that has to be used twice on some surfaces.
*shrug*

We do not get that product here in the UK. We do have a product called Ecover that is similar and good for the environment. They do a whole range of houshold products from wash up liquid to washing powder. We tried these and unfortunately they like your Clorox do not cut the Mustard so we now use our normal brand “Fairy”. Hopefully one day they will improve the performance of these products so we can use them again.

I never did such comparisons, gud that you are bringing such reviews. I always picked up an economic one with large quantity
. Will try this one next time.

Kat – you know I have never tried the generic kind before. I need to!

Mark – I want a dish soap called Fairy! Does it have a fairy on the bottle also?
[Reply]
Christina thecoffeelady – I have a tip for you on the sponge. Put it in the dishwasher every time you run it. It keeps it fresh for MONTHS!
[Reply]
mistipurple – yeah, it just doesn’t cut the grease on my pots and pans
[Reply]
cady – yes, don’t bother with it, unless you NEVER wash greasy pots and pans. LOL!
[Reply]
gina – do they all work pretty good, or are some better than others?
[Reply]
Priya – I will recommend Dawn forever!

My favorite is Seventh Generation- it’s a natural product and works well. I also use their product for the dishwasher.
I’ve used Method before and it’s pretty good.
I like sticking with the smaller natural companies vs Clorox that came out w/the Green Line but sells much more harsh products:)
[Reply]
Maureen – do they sell Seventh Generation locally or do I have to order it online?
[Reply]
I just wanted you to know that I don’t like the green works dish washing products. The natural (water lily) to me is not natural. I enjoy using the Seventh Generation products…
