I’m checking out the weekly deals at Buy.com today and I spotted an amazing deal on a Vtech 5883 4-Pack Cordless phones, Four Handset Cordless Phone System for only $64.99. That’s four phones for $64.99. I have this exact same system in my house that I use with our Vonage service although I paid almost three times that amount at Best Buy.

I have the base sitting in our front room, and it’s plugged into the phone jack. The other three phones are distributed around the house in various locations. Those only are required to be plugged into power. You don’t need a phone jack for those. Since I have Vonage (VoIP), I have the answering machine turned off, but if we decided to go to digital phone service then I would have the answering machine turned on. It’s also nice when someone answers the phone upstairs and it’s for a person who is downstairs. You can transfer calls between handsets just by hitting select and the handset number 1, 2, or 3.
