I had no clue where we could vote early here. I just made a note on the calendar.
I am in a huge hurry to get all this election junk done. I think I am just sick of the commercials.
Oh, now if they would just get rid of the prescription drug commercials – all would be great!
Enjoy this cool Fall weather,
Sheryl

Sheryl, actually that is just one of several locations around the valley. Just go to https://www.voteforchange.com/?secure=ofa and put in your name and address and they will give you a whole list.

I am wondering what kind of lifestyle you would be leading if you were interested in politics and didnlt know the debate was coming up….

What do you say to people who say their vote doesn’t make a difference and so they are not going to vote?

MyAvatars 0.2 Jules on 29 September, 2008 at 8:32 am

Karen, I just hate that statement and I honestly never know what to say to them.

I love the way the Obama campaign is using technology. I think it’s going to get a lot more younger voters involved this year and hopefully voting for him.

Karen, the principle is that if one person decides not to vote because they don’t think they count, ten others also feel the same thing but don’t speak up about it. If a few thousand people changed their mind and voted whether they thought it would matter or not, it could totally change the outcome. It is an important privelege to exercise.

It is another matter to decide not to vote because you don’t feel you know anything about candidates. Particularly in local elections (county comissioners) it is easy for people to go to the polls and just pick “the name that sounds more familiar than the other.” But then its our responsibility to thoroughly check things out.

Obama’s camp are doing a good job with texts etc, but there is still no chance in heck I am voting for Obama. Stuff like that reminds people who are already backing him but it doesn’t really convince people who aren’t to change their mind.

I did not like politics, because there are an Old Testament that says: No eternal enemy nor eternal friend, there are only eternal interests. I’m sorry, I just expressing my feelings, wish you don’t mind about my comment.

HoundsGood – thanks for your response, that is very helpful. It’s not so much that Obama is doing it for me. It’s more of my love for technology that makes these kinds of things exciting to me.

love-ely – you are free to express your opinion the way you did (not in a rude way) on my blog anytime :)

I don’t think you have to worry too much about Obama winning.

We show him a clear 20% ahead after +500,000 votes.

I will be soooo glad when the election is over. For some reason the recorded calls from the candidates are driving me nuts. I also had about 40 pieces of mail this week from the different candidates, all of which just went in the trash. I saw the garbage next to the mail boxes were full of them. I think they could have saved a few trees.
The guys that come to your door and ask you to vote – they never leave! I think they may want an invite to dinner. LOL!
Well, this will all be over soon and then we will have someone new to complain about.
