My youngest son J.T. got sick at school today, and the nurse called me to come pick him up. When I got to school, he looked a little tired, but he wasn’t running a fever. I thought for sure in my mind that he was faking being sick, and just trying to get out of his last two periods, but I took him home like the good mom I am and got him all set up on the couch with water and a movie. (I didn’t even think to get a bucket. After all he was faking it right??)
About two hours later his fake illness had him spewing all over the family room, down the hall, and into the bathroom. Note to self…stop buying blue Gatorade. It’s a bitch to clean out of the carpet, even with the help from the dog. GAG! He hasn’t stopped either. It just keeps coming and coming up and out. At least he’s been able to make it to the bathroom.
I’ve spent most of the evening following him around the house with the Clorax wipes, and I’ve washed my hands at least a hundred times. I can’t get sick. I won’t get sick. I’m an old woman and my bladder isn’t what it use to be. I would need incontinence products if I started throwing up. TMI? So what! It sucks getting old, and one day you will say to yourself, “Oh yeah, that Julie girl said this would happen.” You’ve been warned.

I’m sorry, I’m laughing. I’m not sure I should, hahaha.
Get well soon, kiddo.
I do have incontinent pads. TMI too?
Lmao!
We have blue fizzy pop in the UK, as well. It’s nasty stuff. A friend of my girlfriend says to her kids that they can only have sweets one day a week, and they can eat as much as they like then.
Her dentist suggested it, as a way of cutting down cavities. And they’ve been as good as gold about it since.
Poor kid! Hope he’s feeling better now!
And poor you and your hands – with all the cleaning!
And..uh, yeah! Why didn’t anyone tell us that thing about barfing and incontinence?? Totally horrid!
mistipurple – as long as you are laughing WITH me and not AT me, it’s all good!
TigerTom – that stuff might be good going down, but coming up is just the nastiest thing I have ever seen!
Lisa – yep, he’s all better now, thanks for asking, and I didn’t seem to catch it either
Well for one how do you term it as a fake flu? he could be down with something else too. Note the symptoms, check his home work schedule. You should be fine.

I am so sorry about your little guy. I agree with the comment above though, that this could be something else too…
But I am sure you have got it checked and its sad that you have to keep washing your hands. You have some resolve.
It sounds real bad. The poor guy must be tired.
Its really hard to tell nowadays whether the kids are faking it or not. Well I am sure after this experience both of you wont take each other for granted.
I feel really sorry for that poor kid, I’ve fallen ill many times and acted many times too
, I once womited about 5 times in hour after eating a different kind of fish in a chineese restaurant, i know how it feels, the worst thing was, i had clean everything ![]()

Poor guy and poor Mama too. I hate it when I think that my kids were/are faking it and it turns out they really are sick.
Haha… good one Julie! Just when you think you have them all figured out, they throw a curve ball at ya

I just luv whatever kids do..sometimes they cant tell u whats the problem and they try faking, but surely there is something causing him to do this.

Don’t you hate it when you misjudge it THAT far off? Oh, my kids are fakers too and I have to watch to make sure it’s legit. I’ve had this happen plenty of times, though. Not with the flu, but them me thinking they aren’t sick, only to spew out that day’s lunch…UGH~

Your son seems to be really clever. I have never seen anyone fake flu. height of cleverness! .. great!
I remember we used to drink lots of gatorade when we were training for athletic meets. Sometimes the training was so rigorous that our body’s get exhausted to a point were we start throwing up. No prizes for guessing the color of the “output”.
