I am so sick and tired of our phone ringing on Saturday mornings. It’s our day to sleep in, and I am constantly awaken by these annoying phone calls. You know the ones where you answer the phone and it’s a recorded message that says, “Please wait for an important message.” What the heck can be so important at 6:00AM on a Saturday morning?

Have you ever tried to Google some of the numbers that call you like that? Sometimes you can find a lot of information about the caller, and other times it gives you no results at all. Well next time you get one of these annoying phone calls go to AnnoyingCallers.com and search the number. Most likely you will find it there, and you can also read what other people have to say about these calls.

UGH, those are the PITS! My poor hubby has this number that keeps calling his cell phone continuously, anywhere from 5 to 30 times a DAY! When he answers they hang up. I Googled the number and found out that thousands of people have the same problem from this specific number. There’s nothing that can be done about it, the phone company can’t block the number or anything. The only thing you can do is sign up with the Do Not Call registry and report them.

We honestly thought, since the cell phones were turned off for 8 days like the house phone was that they’d have stopped calling. OH NO! The very first call he got on the cell phone when it was turned back on was them again. To say the least, he was NOT happy!

I have googled many of those phone numbers, its amazing what sort of information can be found out there.

I leave my answer machine on most of the time, so it deals nicely with those annoying calls.

Hi Jules,
We had Qwesst put a subscriber screen on our number here. It cuts down on the number of calls by quite a bit. The caller has to press 1 before they get connected, so we don’t get as many of those automated calls anymore

I was really frustrated with these nasty phone calls. So I stopped receiving call from unknown numbers. Even the cellular company did not help with it. Some time the person keeps calling I pick up the call and put the call on hold. By repeating this routine I don’t get the calls now! so guys, I am having fun.

Suchlike calls madden me. I tried to put the call on hold but it’s made me nervous. For quite time past I limited my incoming calls and in this way I eliminated the problem. I don’t get the calls now!

I would recommend you to use have telephone set that itself block such kinds of numbers. There are number of companies offering this kind of facility so avail them.

I google numbers ALL THE TIME! Usually when the phone is ringing, if I am nearby a computer I’ll quick type in the number to see who it is. It’s ALWAYS a telemarketer. I even put myself on the do not call list and that doesn’t work!I have been reading women’s blogs because I am starting one of my own. I hope you’ll visit it if you have time!

The worst one I had was what turned out to be a re-seller for my mobile network. They called every day for two months, but my mobile phone wouldn’t let me pick up the call so I could never tell them to go away. Infuriating doesn’t even come close to it.

Totally agreed, Julie. I’ve gotten so sick of these automated auto warranty phone calls that I’ve started to
file complaints against the telephone number rather than complaint to the FTC (which doesn’t seem to do anything!!). There are a lot of ways to spoof numbers nowadays – all of which are illegal – and I’d love to just shut down this whole industry. Wishful thinking, I suppose!!
