Zappos Vendor Party 2008

The Zappos Vendor Appreciation Party was last Sunday, which also happened to be Michael’s birthday. It was a private party held at Rain, at The Palms. They also had the pool area rented out for us, complete with penguins swimming around in the pool. They were the cutest things, and I wanted to pet them, but their owner warned me that they bite.

We spent most of the night out at the pool in a private cabana, sucking down vodka Sno-Kones. Not only did they taste delicious, but they were nice and COLD.

Some of our friends got a little too happy, and had to be escorted out by security. (Just kidding! I asked the security guy to pose for this picture)

Despite the fact that I should have bought some diet pills and taken them for about 2 months before the party to lose some weight, I had a wonderful time, and a lot of fun. Maybe a little bit too much fun??

Sounds like a blast! I totally would’ve wanted to pet the penguins, too! Wonder if they de-chlorinated the pool for them, or if maybe penguins don’t mind chlorine? Hmm..

Lisa – they had them in a separate pool, (kiddy pool maybe) and yes, they did not have chlorine in it.

Wow! Were the penguins some kind of unique thing because they had connections? Or is there a penguin-rental service somewhere?

Liz – your comments keep going into my spam folder, DARNIT! But to answer your question, I guess they just rented them. Their owner was there watching them, then I saw him leave the party later with them all in crates. HA! It is Vegas after all, so anything is possible.
