Tree Removal

See the tree on the left?

  • Yes, the one that provides shade to my bedroom, my son’s bedroom, our loft, and the foyer.
  • Yes, the one that help keeps the sun from beating down in the late afternoon when it’s 115 degrees outside.

My neighbor decided to cut it down this morning, raising the temperature in my house by about 10-15 degrees.

Thanks asshole. You tree hater you!

Oh man, where did the time go? I’ve been moving in fast-forward for the last couple of weeks, getting things done that I’ve put off for months, and starting new projects. Summer is here, and the boys are in full “hang-out do nothing” mode.

A flood basically leveled the town I grew up in, destroying every single place I spent as a child. Seeing the coverage on TV, and online, has been just heartbreaking.

The story that hit me the most was the flood-damaged Paramount Theatre, and the Wurlitzer concert organ that has been there since 1928. I have fond memories as a child visiting the Paramount for many school field trips, and ballets with my Grandmother. For some reason I have a faint memory of my Grandmother playing that organ, for one of her Women’s Club outings, but I can’t quite piece it together. My mother might remember.

Do you remember when you were a teenager and your parents grounded you from your car?

“Hey mom, are you reading this? Ground me…PLEASE!! I can’t afford to drive anymore!”
