Sigh…I really wish I didn’t have FBD, but I do, and I just have to deal with all the ups and downs of it. I’m having a pretty major flare up right now, as I have three, very painful cyst. My OB/GYN decided that I needed to go to a specialist from now on, so I am now a member of the Komen Breast Care Center in Las Vegas.
It’s a beautiful office, and the staff is just wonderful. I really like my doctor, and the team they have assigned to me. I had to go for test today, and I got a professional massage before my test. It has been years since I’ve had one and it felt great! He even worked out all the knots I have up around my shoulders.
The test went well, until the ultrasound tech found a cyst I didn’t even know I had. It doesn’t hurt or anything, so I was shocked when he called in another Radiologist to look at it, then they called the head Radiologist as well. They called upstairs to my doctor, but she was in surgery, so they told me just to get dressed and someone will call me.
I had already scheduled my follow up appointment for Monday May 5th, so it’s just a waiting game at this point, unless my doctor is going to call or something. It’s nerve racking when the techs can’t tell you anything. Is it 6:00PM yet? I can’t wait for the weekend!
fibrocystic breast disease, radiology, digital mammogram, ultrasound, MRI
Oh. Snap. I hate that!

Yeah, waiting on test results on the weekend is just frustrating eh? Story of my life…hahaaha
I hope yours turns out ok. ![]()
My mom has the same condition and has been fighting the insurance company for years to allow her to have a yearly mammogram and ultra-sound. My doctor wants me to start my yearly mammograms when I turn 30 because of my mom’s history.
Corrin - I can’t imagine having to fight with insurance. Luckily I have good insurance. My mother is a breast cancer survivor, so I think the history “qualifies” me for the more advanced test.
She needs to be having digital mammograms, ultrasounds, and an MRI every year. Good luck to her, and you. It’s such a roller coaster!
Well, on the bright side of things you got a massage to relive stress before they made you stress over waiting to hear from the doctor! :-p
Sounds like a really great facility ![]()
Loretta’s last blog post..have you met sparky at Social Spark yet?
Loretta said pretty much what I was going to say. I wish I could have a massage before any doctor’s appointment. Hugs and prayers for you!

Yea, the waiting is the worst. FBD means they always have to look at something closer everytime you go in. I go through this too.
Hang in there, Jules. It’s always been my experience that they only make you wait if everything is OK. THEY know you’re fine, but they’re not in a big hurry to share the news. At least I hope that’s what’s going on. ((((HUGS GALORE))))
