For some reason getting these new shoes made me feel better about myself today.
How stupid is that? Do my shoes really define myself as a person? I’m pissed off at myself for thinking new shoes would make me feel better.
I really like them, and they look adorable on my feet, but I feel stupid and superficial for getting them.
Is that strange? Do I need a therapist?
shoes, self image, therapist, retail therapy
I have those black skechers, as well as variations in other colors - best shoes ever!

I have those Skechers too, in pink. I used to like them; now they hurt my pinky toes. Weird. Usually shoes get MORE comfortable as time goes by! Works out well for Kayley, though - she’s going to snag them from me as soon as we don’t have snow on the ground.
The heels are darling, too. I wish I looked cute in shoes like that! I look like a drag queen.

If you need a therapist for that, then there wouldn’t be enough therapists in the world to handle the number of women that would need therapists.
I love those Sketchers .. I want a pair so bad.
Don’t feel superficial, as a woman you are so allowed to be a shoe whore ![]()

You don’t need a therapist, you’re already practicing Retail Therapy, which I am a firm believer of LOL. Those are cute shoes though ![]()
Not at all! The fact that you’re asking the question means you’re doing better than most women in the “needs therapy” dept.
Anyway, who *wouldn’t* want the lady Sketchers they’ve got out these days? My sis-in-law has the cutest eggshell ones with lace. It’s like the perfect solution for a casual sneaker-type shoe while having enough style to wear to work.

I always feel bad when I spend money on myself. I need to get over that. LOL!
Stupid and superficial? Don’t be silly. It’s hard to find the perfect shoe- you should revel in the fact that you found 2 pairs!
Don’t get over that Jules. It’s called being thrifty. Often that leads to less heartache and pain, because you have money for other things in life.
Of course, after a certain period of thriftiness it’s ok to spend the saved up money for a certain purpose (such as shoes). Plus, if you wait it makes it more valuable.
