My back is still jacked up, and no I haven’t been to a chiropractor yet. I’m still debating all the pros and cons.
One thing I did notice is that if I am up walking around and moving it feels great. When I lay flat on the couch or the bed, it feels great. It’s when I sit in a chair for any length of time that it stiffens up and shoots pain up my back, and down my butt. So that means for 8 hours a day I am in pain sitting in my chair at work. Sitting here at my desk at home is painful as well.
Advil Liquid Gel pills seem to be the drug of choice for back pain, so I bought some and they really do work. I’m concerned about my stomach taking so many though. Time will tell I guess.
Michael just came home from the store with a jar of pickled eggs, just because he has never tried them. They look just f@*&’ing nasty. He’s such a weirdo.

You might want to go see a neurosurgeon instead of a chiropractor for an MRI because I’ll bet you have at the very least a bulging disc or 2. When you stand or lay down straight it realigns your back in a sense and does not put any pressure on your lower spine which is what sitting does. It will be a matter of time before the pain starts going down one of your legs if it is a disc problem.
Hi Julie,
Back pain can have many causes and can be as mild as a muscle spasm to a tumor. I do not wish to scare you but if it gets you going to get it checked, then its worth it.
Taking drugs will only mask your symptoms will the root problem may become worse. Not sure how old you are, but if you’re over 40yrs (sure don’t look it from your pic
) then the chance of disc herniation is very low.
Here’s some thought and guesses without knowing your full condition:
1) If you’re pain is relieve from standing and worse on sitting, then we are looking more at a lumbar spine type problem.
2) Do you get morning stiffness that gets better overall throughout the day?
3) Do the symptoms subside or feel better with a hot shower?
4) you mentioned pain relief with activity, do you also get pain in buttocks at night?
5) Did you experience this pain gradually from your hip/buttock up to the lower back or lumbars?
6) Pain does not radiate down the thigh or below the knee, correct?
If you answered “yes’ to all the above, then you may want to go and get an xray to rule out Ankylosing Spondylitis. It occurs between age 15-30yrs and 3 times more prevalent in males.
I hope I scared you enough to go get checked and xrayed.
Best regards,
Tim
I hope you didn’t rupture a disk. Get well soon, and don’t it the nasty pickled stuff.
Hope your back gets better soon! Sometimes when my back is hurting, sitting in a very straight up chair makes it better. We have a wingback chair that fixes it right up!
Ewwwy on the pickled eggs! Save them for use as punishment for the boys! “Be home by 5 or you’re eating these!!”
Bwahahahaha!!
