We chilled at home Saturday night which was a good thing. We were well rested to hit the road Sunday, and check out some places we’ve never been. We decided to take a drive to Red Rock Canyon and take a look around, and check out the trail heads. I still don’t have good hiking shoes, so we didn’t do any hikes that required more than just walking on flat surfaces. Our first stop was Canyon Springs. We hiked around and took some pictures of the storm coming in. We heard a lot of thunder, and we saw lightening, but we never got any rain.
Our next drive was the 13 mile loop that goes all through the canyon. We stopped at the different look out points and enjoyed the scenery.
Michael was trying to take pictures of me, but I wasn’t in the mood (for some reason) of having pictures taken of me, so I acted like a child…LOL! We got a good laugh about how this picture turned out. LOL! I really wasn’t mad like I look in that first picture. I was trying to appear mad. I think I met my goal. I look so angry!

The weather ended up being really nice, even though the threatening storm that seemed to be approaching never actually made it to where we were. It was so hot that we really wanted it to rain on us, at least just a little bit to cool us off. Speaking of heat. I just heard on Fox News that it is 108 in the Hollywood Hills today. DAMN! That is super hot for So Cal! I don’t think we ever had temps that high when we lived there.

We drove through the rest of the canyon, and soon found ourselves in some type of twilight zone situation. It’s so odd, that it clearly deserves a post of it’s own. I just have to figure out how to write about it to give it the justice it deserves. Just keep this in mind. It involves a ghost town, and a lot of out of place animals.
I just looked at your About page and realize you live in Las Vegas too. woohooo. And I loved hair metal in the 80s (and still do).
Hi Jeni. Well I’m in Green Valley, but close enough
Are you originally from Las Vegas, or are you a transplant from somewhere else?
Really nice pictures, I think you enjoyed a lot. Great!
