What a Monday! First day of school, and flash flood warnings. Good times! We were literally jolted out of bed at 2:00AM when the loudest thunder I have ever heard blasted through the sky. The next thing you know we were in the middle of a downpour, with lightening and hail. Streets are flooded everywhere, cars are stalled in the middle of intersections, people are sitting on top of their cars waiting to be rescued, and lightening strikes started several fires around Las Vegas.
In fact, on my way to work they kept talking about the lightening strike that hit an office building at the intersection of “ABC street” and “XYZ street,” and started a fire. That intersection was the EXACT location of my office, so the whole time I’m driving in I was thinking that my office was on fire, but I’m here, and there is no fire. Actually, I’m not sure which building it is, I didn’t see any fire trucks. One intersection I had to cross had washed down a ton of landscaping rock, so I had to put the ole Grand Am in 4-wheel drive (lol) and maneuver my way through.
But, the boys got up, and we had a good start to the morning. There was no yelling and screaming, and the morning went smooth. I got them dropped off at school early, and they both were greeted by their groups of friends, with high fives and their crazy handshakes. I’ve got high expectations for then this year, and I’ve got to put all my energy into making sure those are met. I’m obsessive when I get my mind set on something, so expect to hear a lot about those two in the next nine months.
Well we are still under a flash flood warning until around 9:00AM, and it just started to pour again here. Oh oh, and while I was driving in all the chaos this morning, there was a women in her car, on the freeway, driving with her knee, putting rollers in her hair. True story.

Have you ever thought to learn hypnosis? Imagine the power to be able to hypnotize people. That could be kind of fun. Michael went to a comedy club once to see a hypnosis show and even him, the skeptic, was a little blown away. The hypnotist took people from the audience and hypnotized them. He told them to act like a Japanese rapper, and play air guitar, and they all did! HA!
Dr Michael Masterman is doing just that. He is offering his hypnosis teachings at his website Hypnosis Coach. You can sign up for his hypnosis course for as little as $99 bucks, and become a hypnotist yourself.
So what do you think? Can people really be hypnotized? Have you ever been hypnotized? I’ve thought about it, at least to try to use it to quit smoking. I’m a little bit skeptical, but with some real feedback from people that used it, I would be willing to give it a try.

It’s 11:30AM and I am trying to get the boys to get up. The first day of school is tomorrow, and I don’t want them sleeping in too late today, that they can’t fall asleep at a decent time tonight. I’ve planned our sit down and talk discussion tonight about being ready to leave at 7:30AM. Hopefully they will get the message that I am not dicking around this year with them.
I went through their closets yesterday and got all the hand me downs from JR’s closet now hanging in Justin’s closet. I put all Justin’s clothes that are too small into a box that I am sending to my blogging friend Loretta. She’s got 4 boys, so the clothes should come in handy for her.
I woke up all stuffy and I have a little sore throat. It was meant to happen since all these sick coworkers walked around the office all last week, coughing and hacking. My hands are almost raw from washing them so much last week. That’s what I get for working outside of my house. LOL! I took some cold medicine, so hopefully I knock it out before it gets worse.

I think most of you know that my youngest son is a skateboarder. He’s in the Las Vegas skate crew called S.I.N. (Skating In Nevada). He’s been skating since he was a little kid, when his skateboards were almost as long as him. Here’s some pictures I pulled off their website to share. They look like a bunch of dirty street skater kids. Oh wait, they are!
They stay far away from Vert skating. It’s all about the 9-stair at the high school. He’s the one with the long blond hair.

Being the mom of a street skater means spending a lot of money on equipment, shoes, and clothes. He goes through about 2 decks a month because with each new trick he tries, he snaps his boards fairly often. New hardware at least 10 times a year, trucks and wheels, almost once a month. It’s not a cheap sport by any means.

I was thrilled to find a new place to shop for all his skateboards today. It’s called Warehouse Skateboards, and they carry all the brands that he likes me to buy him. Element, Flip, Firm, and Black Label decks. He skates 7.75′s. Independent or Destructo trucks, depending on his mood that day. Bones bearings, Element hardware, and just about any kind of wheels.
Hey Warehouse Skateboard guys! Are you looking to put a team together out here on the West Coast? I’ve got just the skater that needs a sponsor badly! (Well his poor mom does – HAHA!)
