So I called the school this morning, and the secretary informed me that she “wasn’t allowed to give out teachers email addresses” so I had her put me through to said teacher’s voice mail, so I could request it directly. Schools been out for a little over two hours now, and I haven’t received a return call. Sigh
Do you correspond with your kids teachers through email? It sure makes it much easier, considering I sit in front of a computer ALL.DAY.LONG.
school, junior high school, teachers, teachers email
Our teachers have their email (work of course, not personal) address posted on the school website. Matthew’s teacher, in particular, has sent out several emails to the parents already this year, and I’ve talked with her privately via email twice already. I’d much rather email than speak on the phone or write notes back and forth.
I correspond with parents all the time through my school email account. Check the school website you should be able to get their “work” email from it.
Because you are a fabulous Principal (right, you are a Principal now??) Sue
I wish you were at our school!
I checked the website, and they are not published, but I did find it in the login section where I can check homework and grades.
Our teacher’s email addresses are on the website, too - well, actually on the PowerSchool page, where you have to login - but definitely right there for us to find! That’s lame that they’re so secretive like that.
Yes, I did find it in our login section also ![]()
There is some kind of union reason why our teacher’s e-mails aren’t published on the school website. Most teachers are happy to give it to you though even though they aren’t “supposed” to. It makes life so much easier.
The single teacher who returned my call, called back WEEKS later… and I’d completely forgotten why I wanted to speak to her in the first place!
And the principal of that school… oh, he was a piece of work… I left 3 messages for him over a period of 2-3 days, and finally just showed up at his office. He was nonplussed! Asked me why I didn’t have an appointment! Needless to say, I couldn’t help my sarcastic, verging on aggressive answer.
As far as I recall, no teacher has ever volunteered to give an email address.
