I’ve always loved movies that are based around human/animal relationships. I guess it’s because I’m a huge animal lover, and I know how emotionally attached you can get to an animal. Take for instance Free Willy. That is still one of my families all time favorite movies ever. When the boys were little we watched it over and over again. It was just a really happy movie.

Coming out in theaters on August 24th is another feel good movie about a troubled teen, played by Carly Schroeder, who moves to the Bahama’s to live with her father, played by Adrian Dunbar, who is a dolphin researcher. She forms a relationship with a dolphin, which inevitably changes her outlook on life, and gives her a purpose to continue.

It looks to be a cute story, set in the beautiful waters of the Bahamas, with an adorable dolphin. Awwww :) Take a peek at the trailer.

At first when I read your description I thought this was just going to be a cheesy ripoff of Free Willy. But I checked out the trailer and it actually looks like it might be pretty good. Some of the shots of the dolphins are pretty impressive to make it worthwhile to check out by themselves.

I would absolutely love to swim with dolphins. But since I can’t ,Ima go with my family to watch this fun movie about a girl and her dolphin. How can the story get any better than that? I love stories that explore the bonds between an animal and a human and I believe this one won’t disappoint me either. Can’t wait to see it and I really do hope that this family movie hits a home run!

I saw this movie today at a special screening and all I can say is that this movie is far better than Free Willy. It’s more like Whale Rider or Akeelah and the Bee. It’s a really sweet story and my 12 year old daughter loved it!
