While Michael and I were out for dinner last night we got to discussing the subject of getting old. I watched something on PBS the other night and they were asking a group of older people what they regretted most in their lives. One of the women said that she regrets that she didn’t travel as much as she would have liked to. She always wanted to rent a nc waterfront property, or some type of beach house for a few months, and she never got the chance. That is so sad, because I saw a lot of her in me. I don’t get to travel as much as I would like to either, and I don’t want to get old without having left the United States.
travel, traveling, vacations, waterfront properties, North Carolina
You know me and traveling. We love it and highly recommend it. I’ve always said it’s about priorities. Do you want that big screen TV or to travel. We choose travel. Do you want cable tv or to travel. We choose travel (and streaming some shows online).
I’ll be 33 in January and you and I are on the same page. My husband and I have decided to make travel a priority and stop putting it on the back burner. Your post comes to me right on time because I needed a reminder lol its so easy to get caught up in every day life (sigh)
I agree with you, I’ve always worried it’ll be too late to go travelling enough. Still, it’s been 12 years on the road so far! Hey if you want some inspiration to just do it, November is a great time to head to New Zealand! Up to the Bay of Islands with you, and get out in a sailing boat for the day, you’ll maybe never leave ![]()
I too want to travel a lot, your post has really helped me.Thanks for your great post.
Lord only knows what I’ll be doing when I’m in my mid-sixties; all I can be sure
of is that I’ll have les travel regrets then if I cover some of my dream spots
now. My siblings and I are trying to convince our parents to sell up and retire in Jamaica. They think we’re making the suggestion not just for their best.
