There is nothing worse than having your car breakdown and not having the money to pay to have it repaired. That has happened to me so many times in my life, and I’m really getting tired of it. When my factory warranty expired, I really should have looked into an extra extended car warranty coverage like the company Continental Warranty offers.

When I had to have my engine torn apart at the beginning of the year, having an extended car warranty would have saved me from scrambling to come up with $1000 for car repair costs. I guess you live and learn though, so as soon as I can get all caught back up again in the financial department I am going to look into purchasing an extended warranty for my car.

On the site they have a section where you can search for car warranty plans by plugging in the state you live in, and the mileage on your car. I was able to find a plan for my car that would cover such things as the engine, transmission and transfer case, front and rear wheel drive, air conditioning, brakes, cooling system, electrical, fuel system, and steering components.

The next step is calling one of their agents to get a quote on what it would cost for an extended warranty on my car. Do any of you have an extended warranty on your car or SUV? What company did you purchase yours through? Do you think it’s worth it?

Boo on this company. I called a few last year before we traded our truck in, and these people called me NON STOP once I submitted the form online for more info. I had to tell them at least 4 times we were not interested.

I have a continental warranty on my 2004 suburban. They told me it covered everything and they charged me $1800.
I have a cracked block. When I bought the coverage (over the phone)they said they cover anything mechanical.
They consider cracked block not mechanical.
I got hosed

I agree. It sucks to not have money when you need it the most. Anyways, back to your question, I do not have extended warranty on any of my cars. I personally feel that it is not worth it.
