I’m pretty much convinced that buying my Sirius radio when they first came out wasn’t the best move. I should know better than to buy a new tech gadget when it first comes out. I’m on my third factory warranty replacement unit in just under 2 years. Actually I think I’m just not meant to have Sirius in the first place. Just last week Michael was putting his bike in my trunk, when something caught on the antenna and snapped the wire. I’ve paid for a two year subscription that I have used for about 6 months total. Sigh…
I originally got Sirius because I feel the censorship on the radio, and music in general, is total bull crap. I do know that censorship has crossed over to some of the Sirius stations, but those stations are not set on my favorites. I refuse to listen to them, even though I know I can get my Daughtery fill on them.
The reason I am writing this is because I haven’t had my Sirius so I’ve been listening to a local station here in Las Vegas during my commute. The most absolute worst example of censorship is played on this station at least 3 times a day, and it’s the Fall Out Boys - This Ain’t A Scene It’s An Arms Race. Okay, they bleep out the word god damn. I can live with that, and that is understandable. But instead of Arms Race, they say HORSE RACE! What the hell is that???? You can’t say Arms Race on the radio? It’s on every freaking news station on the planet, but you can’t say it on the radio?
It just eats at me, and I’ve now boycotted 94.1 - The Mix. I mean really. If your program director has to censor out the main point of the song, it’s probably time to just not freaking play it anymore!
94.1 The Mix, censorship, music, Fall Out Boys
