Some of my older readers may remember when Pink Floyd released We Don’t Need No Education in 1979. It quickly became the teen angst anthem. Remember the verses, “no dark sarcasm in the classroom” or “we don’t need no thought control?”
We brought our boom boxes on the school bus, and jammed this song before we sat through Mr. Meeker’s Government class. Oh what a moron he was. I fantasized about choking him on a daily basis. He hated women, and as a women, I hated him.
Hey Mr. Meeker! Remember when you got off work and you couldn’t leave because your tires were flat? Yes, that was me. And I laughed my ass off about it for days you sucker! The only thing that would have made it better at the time was YouTube.com.
JR told me about the new song he liked tonight. It sparked my blog entry so I thought I would share it. The new teenager angst???

This melody is a DIRECT ripoff from a song in the musical Chicago. I’ll find it and show ya.

I was born in 1979… but I still think Pink Floyd beats MCR with a stick.
