Las Vegas is sure turning into a retirement community. They are building more and more retirement communities by the day, and these places are gorgeous! They are master planned communities with parks, golf courses, swimming pools, and even small locally owned markets for them to shop in.
Sun City Anthem is in Arizona, but they also have one here in Henderson, NV, and it is amazing! The entrance to the place is two towering man made waterfalls with large pools. My son skates in the skate park up there, so I love taking him and looking at all the homes. I would definitely consider moving to community like that in the future.

I am glad you pointed out how nice these active adult communities are. Most people have the old fashioned concept of a dull retirement home. But these new communities are WONDERFUL! I just visited one of the Del Webb communities in Atlanta and toured their 35,000 square feet activities center. It looks like the Ritz Carlton. Indoor and outdoor pools, exercise equipment, game rooms, craft rooms, demostration kitchens, and outdoor terraces overlooking a river. My wife was very excited and wants to move now. Age 59 and counting.
