I watched Michael Moore on The Tonight Show last night talking about his new movie, and there were some really scary facts about health care coverage and traveling, like some places not even accepting your insurance. That is scary to me, and I’d like to believe that we are fully covered, but I guess you can’t be too sure, or can you?
With the purchase of medical travel insurance before you leave on your trip you can be guaranteed additional coverage for yourself. These coverages also include extreme sporting events you may participate in while on vacation like skiing, hot air ballooning, and scuba diving. All the activities that would increase your risk of injury.
So it’s probably best if you check first on the type of coverage that you and your family can get. They even cover seniors, with a special rate for over 65 years of age. Even Pre-exsisting conditions are covered.

I caught that interview, too; also the one he had on The Daily 10. Doesn’t really hit you until someone else paints a picture of urgency, doesn’t it. Thanks for the insurance tip!
The best thing to do is to check the policy before you buy. This ensures you have the right policy for your needs. A lot of disputes happen because people think they’re covered and discover too late that they’re not. Be honest! if you fail to tell the insurer that you had major surgery and go on a mountaineering expedition, you may well find your medical claim is not valid if you fall ill.
