As much as I liked The News Room, when I first heard about them here, and I started to use them here and here, I’ve realized that this isn’t really going to work for my blog, or for anyone’s blog for that matter. Do you notice what is happening?
The original story that you thought you blogged about, has changed. The videos change and go to another news story. Now how is that going to look on my blog in a couple months when those pages get indexed, and the post is no longer valid? No one is going to click on an invalid news story when they clearly searched for something else. And this is a CPM program, it depends on impressions and clicks.
EDIT – this is called USER ERROR. Cass pointed out that I was putting the first “feed” that comes up on their main page instead of clicking through to the actual news story I wanted to write about. Okay…on with working with The News Room again

The News Room sure doesn’t make it easy to share the video, do they? I visited your post about Paris, I watched an ad, realized the video wasn’t the right one, clicked to the Paris video, and had to watch ANOTHER ad before I could see it.

Jules, I’m thinking that when you grabbed the “feed” to test your feed reader, you ended up with the news feed, and that’s why it’s changing. That feed is meant to update. Try grabbing the regular mash code again.

Cass, thanks so much for pointing out what I was doing wrong. I have faith again in The News Room!

Glad it worked. I’m really enjoying the service, it helps me get my ideas together, yk?

I like the service, but I’m probably not going to use it for a while. The reason isthat many of my visitors are on slow connections and don’t want to download video!
(My main blog is knitting, and I normally run brief posts. As a resultI’ve bu ilt up a list of people with slow connections who just like to see a quick funny knitting picture each time.)
Oh–on FF on the mac, your comments box is wider than the centerpanel. I cc an’t proofread half my comment. Typo’s are likely!

I was reading this and went to check mine but I used the individual news stories so mine haven’t changed! whew! You had me nervous there for a few minutes! LOL
I’m glad to hear that you fixed your feeds so they go with your posts again.
