It seems that the only horror movies that I have every really liked were by Stephen King. My love for these movies started with Carrie many years ago, and stemmed from the love of the book many years before that. Soon after followed Cat’s Eye, Children of the Corn, Christine, Creepshow, Cujo, and Firestarter.

I then took a break from the horror movies as I had two young children in the house. My movies consisted of Barney, and the Ninja Turtles at that point. By the time the evening came around I was too tired to be an adult, and usually just slept. I did read a lot of his books during this time, so I tried to stay as caught up as I could. Since my kids have gotten older, we’ve enjoyed watching these movies together. In fact, I just watched Cujo the other day. Love that movie!!!

Coming on June 22nd, or is it July 13th (I saw two dates in the trailer) is the new movie 1408 movie staring John Cusack, and Samuel L Jackson. I guess the room 1408 at the Dolphin Hotel is not the room you want to stay in considering 56 people have died in it, and none of them have lasted for more than an hour. I love John Cusack, the actor, and the 1408 movie is looking very promising in the thrills and suspense department.

Not to be too negative but I didn’t like any movies with John Cusack in it.

Jackson is a great actor most of the time until he starts yelling instead of talking.

I’m not a big horror movie person. However, I did see Cujo when it came out, I was just a kid, probably around 6 or 7. Scared the crap out of me and I’ve hated Saint Bernard looking dogs ever since!

This 1408 movie sounds like it may be interesting. I may have to sneak off and see it. I mean, how horror filled can a movie shot in a hotel room be? It’s not like… it’s Freddy Kruger….is it? :)

Don, that’s my thoughts exactly! I can’t hang with the Freddie Kruger slasher scene, but this one looks suspenseful and exciting.
