Oh I forgot to tell you. My doctor also suggested that I have a bottle of Xanax on hand for when/if I have a panic attack. You see, I never told you this, but I had one while I was in the hospital. It got pretty bad, and the nurse had to call the charge nurse, who in turn had to call my doctor to come in on his day off to see me. I do take responsibility for my actions, but I also am going to have to put partial blame on one of my nurses.
There was a chance that my doctor was not going to be able to do my surgery the way we wanted to, which in turn would have made him have to make incisions through my stomach. When I woke up later that night in my room, one of the nurses came in and asked me how my incisions were feeling. I said, “What incisions?” She said, “Oh the ones they had to do for your surgery.” I sat there looking at her in disbelief as she continued to check my vitals. The minute she left the room, I was up looking at myself in the mirror, and I started having a panic attack.
When the doctor finally got there, he eased my mind that the nurse hadn’t even bothered to check my chart when she came in. Then he gave me a Xanax, which immediately calmed me down. I don’t foresee having any panic attacks, but I guess it’s nice to know I have these here in case I do. There are times when things seem to be much worse than they are, so maybe a little pill will help me get over that feeling.

You have to be careful about xanax though. It can knock you right out. I took some once (borrowed) to alleviate some anxiety and I believe I fell asleep in the bathroom stall.
