IDrive Backup Backing up your files is so important. I can’t tell you how many times I have lost something very important when I had a hardware failure. It’s just the worst feeling in the world. HATE IT! I have an EHD that I put everything on now, but that could die, just like my friend Amy’s did.

There is a solution though by using an online backup service like IDrive. They offer 2 gigs of storage for free, and unlimited storage for $4.95 a month. If you are using the free service and you realize you are going to be needing more space you can easily upgrade to the IDrive-E Pro version. It’s pretty straight forward, check them out. I seriously need to get this added to my list of things to do.

Be careful, my friend.

Even I stored my important data on my DVDs not believing these people who claim to backup our important files. Six months back, a short-circuit in my office caused a small fire which destroyed half of my DVDs. Only after this bad experience, I did a through research for storing my important files in a safer location.

That’s when I came across IDrive-E, an Online Backup service. Not believing their claims, I downloaded their free version and started trying it out. Some of the features immediately caught my attention. It had hands-free automated backup with no complicated scheduling procedures. It conducted fast and efficient backups by compressing data during transmission. I could view, search and restore data backed up onto my account from the web client itself. Moreover I could restore a large number of files with ease using the drag-and-drop feature of Windows Explorer like interface. http://www.idrive.com

I was really impressed and I am using IDrive-E for online backup for all my important files till date. I have no regrets. Why don’t you try it out?

I generally like the overall functionality and features of IDrive. I would like a comparison of IDrive vs Mozy.
