The year was 1979, and I was a freshman in high school, in a rural town, in the state of Iowa. There was three guys in my class that had formed a band, and they would either play live at our school dances, or they would spin albums. As a band, they really were not that great. The only thing they had going for them is they were cute as hell, and I always had a small crush on one of them. I can’t point out which one, because one of the members reads my blog, and I don’t want that information to get out.
Anyway…moving right along. I loved when they DJ’d, as they always knew the hottest bands, and had a massive record collection to boot. One of the bands they introduced me to was The Police, and I still love them to this day. Keep in mind, this was 1979, and Synchronicity hadn’t even hit the airwaves yet. They were relatively unknown at this point, yet we were jamming them on our “boom boxes” all the time. They quickly became the most popular band in my small school. Singer/bassist Sting, guitarist Andy Summers, and drummer Stewart Copeland, had taken over a school…literally.
How freaking cool that after 30 years they are back together, and launching a new worldwide tour? I am absolutely thrilled and I can’t wait to get their new Police cd, with 28 tracks of classic jamming Police tunes.

OMG, is that going to be just the most played Police cd ever? I can guarantee it’s going to be on constant shuffle on my CD player. Should I bust out my old Police concert t-shirt, tease my hair to the moon, and make a video of myself singing along? LOL! I just might.
