My friend that I talk to online almost every single day was taking about getting broadband internet in her home. She’s on dial-up now, and is really hating life. I never realized that there are so many different broadband ISP companies in the UK, until I started looking at the different packages for her.

I told her that she needs to look for one that is running specials if you sign up. Some of them offer free installation, and a free wireless router. Some offer your first month free. I also reminded her that if it says 5 megs, that doesn’t mean that is the connection you will get at your house. It’s “up to” 5 megs, so you could get just below that. I think she gets it now, and she should be on ADSL broadband by the end of the week.
