Out of all the places that I have lived, Las Vegas has to be the most unique one. It’s almost like a hub, and no matter where in the world my friends live, they always end up coming to Las Vegas at some point. All the people I meet online, friends that still live in Southern California, family back home in Iowa, etc. Everybody loves Las Vegas, and everyone comes here at least once in their lifetime.
I get asked a lot about hotels, places to eat, and where to shop. I’ve got my picks, but there is so much here, even I haven’t gone to all of them. That’s when I direct them to the Las Vegas vacation blog. Every single thing you ever want to know about Las Vegas can be found there. From Wynn Las Vegas Hotel & Poker Rate Rooms, to Las Vegas shopping malls, centers, & outlets, and Las Vegas Day Trips. There really is a lot to do in Las Vegas besides gambling, and this section gives all kinds of suggestions, like coming to Henderson. They left out the part about me living in Henderson though, so if you take that trip off the Strip while you are in town, stop by and say hi. HA!

I wanted mention this, but I didn’t want to do it in the diagnosis of Justin post. The nursing scrubs the nurses wear now in his pediatrician’s office, are so cute! Sure they are a little juvenile for a 13 year old who doesn’t want to go to a “baby doctor” anymore, but for the little kids, I think they are just adorable.
The first nurse we saw that did his weight and his vitals had on a pair of maroon bottoms, with a white top that had a zoo print theme going on. Lions, tigers, and bears, OH MY! The nurse that took his blood had on teal colored bottoms and a teal matching top. It wasn’t all that fancy, but the color was so pretty and vibrant. The X-Ray technician had on purple bottoms, and a green and purple dinosaur top on. And they all wear matching Crocs of course. With all the choices, it would be kind of cool to be a nurse. I could get into the fashion

Well mommy was wrong, and the guilt has set in. Justin is really suffering, and he doesn’t just need to fart. He has ulcers! My 13 year old boy has ulcers!
They did a stomach X-ray, and did blood work to see if he had the bacteria H.pylori present, and that test came back negative, so that isn’t the cause of the ulcers. When the doctor described the symptoms of ulcers, it totally made sense. His stomach aches are worse when he wakes up in the mornings, and they feel better the more he eats. So that explains why he wanted to eat again within 10 minutes of eating meals. He’s also lost 4 pounds since February!
So he gave us samples of Prevacid, and I have to call the only pediatric Gastroenterologist in Las Vegas in the morning, and get him an appointment as soon as possible. I’m still kind of in shock about this. I just thought he was being a brat about going to school, and faking stomach aches to try to stay home. This has been going on for a couple months now also. Oh I feel so bad now

My friend Amy is heading to the mountains of North Carolina for a retreat she is attending. She also was invited to give a speech about her recovery there, so she’s excited, and I’m excited for her. She was mentioning how remote the area is where she will be, and I got curious about the location so I Google’d it of course. That area is so GORGEOUS! The green trees, and all the lush bushes, and flowers. WOW, I was blown away. I live in the high desert, so anything green is beautiful to me.
I got sidetracked looking where she would be, and I drifted over to searching for homes Asheville, to find what the market for new homes was like in Asheville, North Carolina. The downtown area is said to have a European feel with it’s art-deco architecture, and it’s street musicians ready to share a song and a smile. It seems to be a very cultural place with it’s ethnic restaurants, cafes, coffee shops, and American diners, all surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains. They place just looks beautiful.

Over by the high school I saw a yamaha atv for sale and I was reminded that summer is approaching fast here in the desert. It’s suppose to get up into the high 90′s by the end of this weekend. I look around our neighborhood and I see my neighbors pulling out their boats, motorcycles, and ATV’s getting them all ready for some fun on the lake, and in the sand.
It started reminding me about the summer when the boys and I went to Utah with a friend. He had ATV’s and we had the best time driving them around the mountains. Johnathan wanted to ride it by himself so badly, but he wasn’t allowed to, so I had to sit behind him while he drove. That boys got the need for speed, and he scared me a couple times.
Here’s a picture of the three of us, good times!
