I figured the best thing to do was to call my friend and just ask her what a proper first communion gift would be. She had several suggestions for me including catholic books. So I looked around and I did find some really cute children’s illustrated bibles, and very colorful books about Noah’s Ark. So there, problem solved, and I placed my order for both.
