After thinking long and hard about my surgery over the weekend, I called the doctors office on Monday to schedule it. She called me back today to work out the details and she mentioned that my doctor had in his notes that I was to have a TVH. I told her that I was under the impression that he would be doing a LAVH, as that is the procedure we discussed, and that is the book he gave me to read.

It’s the same procedure either way as I am having the total one done (that includes the cervix) but the LAVH includes the use of cameras for assistance. She thought maybe it was a typo on his part and put me on hold to talk to him. She came back several minutes later and told me he was in with a patient, but she would double check with him, and call me back today.

I’m not sure why, but that made me even more nervous and anxious. I guess the use of a camera gave me even more assurance that it would be done correctly and accurately. I’m patiently awaiting her return phone call.
