Well looky what I had for lunch today. A nice big Double Double from In N Out burger. Two never frozen beef patties, two pieces of cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, and grilled onions, all smothered in their special sauce. Yes, I died, and I am blogging from heaven.

My friend Lisa had a really bad day yesterday. First she heard that one of her aunts had passed away. Just when you think it doesn’t get any worse than that, she got a phone call that yet another aunt had passed away. Different locations, totally unrelated. Unbelievable, and so awfully sad for her and her family. Lisa would really like to get home for the funeral to spend time with the family, but just like any unexpected event, the financial burden is tough. After just spending $1000 on an unexpected car repair there is no way I can help fund her trip, so the least I can do is spread the word that a blogger and a friend is in need. She has a PayPal donation button on her blog to make it easier. If you can help, that is great. If you can’t, then say a prayer and keep her family in your thoughts.

Easter is approaching quickly and the grocery store is filling up with all that yummy chocolate and Easter candy. I can barely stand walking down that isle and not buying every piece of candy on the shelf. Usually when Easter day comes around, I am so sick of the candy that we don’t even have any. I was noticing that more and more catholic gifts are starting to pop up in the stores fairly close to the candy isle. It seems that they are heading back towards the real meaning of Easter, and not just the commercialized one we are so familiar with.

We were suppose to have a rainy and wet weekend here, but the sun is shining and it’s just gorgeous outside. We’re hanging around the house this morning waiting for the mechanic to call so I can go pick up my car, then my mother and I are going to go to the Zappos Outlet store they opened here in Las Vegas. 20,000 pairs of shoes all under one roof. This could take all day.

Oh, oh! Great news! I got my squishy and ultrasound results back and all is good. There is nothing in there that is going to kill me, just tons of cyst that are going to hurt like hell all the time. My next step is making an appointment with the breast care clinic and finding ways I can try to alleviate the pain and discomfort. On Tuesday I go in for the other ultrasound of my 3 month pregnant sized uterus. Sigh. Hopefully when they get rid of all those fibroids I can drop this “baby weight” I’ve been carrying around. LOL!

Certainly you’ve heard about the book The Ultimate Gift. It’s been around the internet for a few years with dozens of websites dedicated to the movement. Schools all over the US have incorporated it into the classroom, and the teen group, “Show Of Hands” started their website, www.raiseahand.org, to carry on the message of sharing and giving. Basically the message is good doesn’t just happen. It grows person by person. Every human has a gift to share, and the power to make a difference in another person’s life.

Click to watch the trailer:

The movie starts when Jason Stevens grandfather dies and he excepts a very large inheritance. His grandfather had other things in mind for Jason though and gives him twelve tasks, or gifts, that he has to complete in order to get the money. The task are designed to challenge him as a person, and to show love and caring to others along the way. What he learns is that life is more important than any amount of money every could be. It’s a good life lesson, and a feel good movie that will certainty leave the audience inspired to help others when they leave the theater.
