Every time I go to my mail box I have another pre-approved credit card thing in there. I have sat down with them to compare credit cards offers but they are so confusing to try to figure out. I also get those pre-approved mortgages and those are even more confusing to me. We’d love to buy a house but then we’d have to add in the expense of home insurance and I just don’t think we are that ready financially. I think the key is to just be frugal and save your money. We have made many cut backs and it has been working out perfectly for us. At one time we were thinking of getting looking into personal loan to get ahead, but in the end we just decided not to. We are saving money out of every paycheck and our current accounts are starting to build each month.

Saving money is really hard especially when you are living paycheck to paycheck, but a handy trick that I learned is ‘paying yourself first’. My husband’s paycheck is deposited automatically so we set it so that it also deposits a small amount each check into our savings account. We don’t miss the money because it is done automatically and slowly but surely we are building our savings.

Hi there,
Being frugal can be kind of a money game and a good place to start is watching where you spend money on things that aren’t a necessity. If you don’t really, really need it, don’t buy it. Stay out of the stores unless you really need something. When getting groceries, watch the weekly sales ads and stock up on those needed items. Clip those coupons and look for stores that double them. That’s just for starters, stop by and check out what I do with credit cards.
Thrifty Lady has a great idea with paying yourself first, these are habits you need to develop and it takes lots of discipline. Set those goals and watch yourself achieve them, this will give you great satisfaction.
