Kristin Armstrong - Happily Ever After: Walking with Peace and Courage Through a Year of Divorce I don’t think I have ever written about Rachael Ray on my blog before. She is my most favorite person on television EVER, and I watch her talk show almost every day. Today she had on Lance Armstrong’s ex wife Kristin Armstrong on her show.

Kristin Armstrong just published a book all about divorce titled, Happily Ever After: Walking with Peace and Courage Through a Year of Divorce. I could have really used that book 4 years ago, but I still think I am going to buy it. I am very happily married, but I don’t think the pain of a divorce ever goes away, no matter how much your life has changed. I think the number one thing that helped me was forgiving. Forgiveness is a powerful thing, and I have applied it throughout all my relationships in the past 6-7 months.

Is there any divorced people out there reading this? How did you deal?

On this day..

For me, not living in the same house anymore soothed some things…then living alone I found some inner peace, and allowing that we’re human and do the best that we can…I started to believe it, not just think it.

I’m one of the bitterly divorced.
It’s been 12 years now and neither he or I, has forgiven the other for the mistakes of our marriage.

It’s really hard for me to do that. He was having affairs left and right, he fathered another child before we were even legally separated. All totaled, he has 6 kids now. One we found out about just a few years ago. He is older than our oldest son we had while married. This boy is 16 years old which means he was cheating on me the first week we were married.
His last child, his only daughter, his sixth child, is named Six. Like he’s proud of the fact he fathered 6 kids.
He barely pays support for any of his kids. I’m lucky if I get $20 a month in child support.
So yeah, I’m bitter and have not forgiven him.

Kristen Armstrong’s book changed my life. I felt like every page was written for me. I even bought it for my ex-husband and he feels the same way. She encouraged me to build a relationship with God like I had never done before in my life, which I’m sure she did for alot of people who read her book. For that alone, she is a hero.
